Talking Points Memo reports:
Arizona GOP chairwoman Kelli Ward promised to stop Mark Kelly — husband of gunshot victim former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ) and Senate candidate – “dead in his tracks.”
“Support the Republican Party of Arizona today and, together, we’ll stop gun-grabber Mark Kelly dead in his tracks,” Ward wrote in a fundraising email.
Neither the Arizona Republican party nor the Mark Kelly campaign immediately responded to TPM’s requests for comment. Kelly, a former astronaut, is challenging Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ).
Ward last appeared on JMG when her husband was accused of literally spitting on a former campaign staffer.
In 2018, she claimed John McCain planned his cancer announcement to thwart her run for the Senate. Seriously.
