The Washington Examiner reports:
President Trump claimed Friday evening he turned down an offer from Time magazine to be the outlet’s Person of the Year because he didn’t want to do an interview. Trump was named the Person of the Year in 2016, and finished second to German Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2015 — a finish that bothered him throughout the following year. Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

Hey remember that time you faked being on the cover of TIME, hung framed versions of the fake in your golf clubs, then David Fahrenthold caught you doing it and reported on it in the Washington Post? Good times.

Or that other time when TIME literally pictured you as the devil on the cover? Hard to know where to take it from there, I guess. Cthulu? Roy Moore?

Worth noting that Time is running an online pool about who should be person of the year if you want an idea of Trump’s competition https://t.co/m9uhGg53o4 pic.twitter.com/YkOnNWrkTm
