Hate Pastors’ “Flat Earth Debate” Ends In “Profanities, Weed Smoking, Rammed Cars, And Police Involvement”

Last Saturday I told you about two hate pastors who were to hold a “flat earth” debate. According to one of the pastors, Greg Locke, things didn’t go so well. He writes:

The Dec. 2, Flat Earth Debate between Pastor Dean Odle (Flat Earth) and the host, Pastor Greg Locke (Spherical Earth) came to an abrupt end after four long hours when Locke decided Odle and his followers—who were the large majority of attendees—had not come in good faith but were there only to attack, intimidate and provoke Locke and others who were there for a peaceful debate based on the Bible.

Locke opened the evening in the spirit of unity and reconciliation and delivered clear instructions for the crowd to remain civil and loving. Odle wasted no time to angrily threaten a walk-out after Locke levied his first line of questioning.

Odle repeated this threat every time Locke challenged him on a point of fact, but Locke continued showing great restraint, even while Odle delivered his opening presentation by stating the false premise that the Bible was not in any way a book of “metaphors” but had to be taken literally at all times.

Odle then went on to deliver a two-hour filibuster wrought with pseudo-science fallacies and gross misinterpretations of Scripture. Locke and his minority crowd remained quiet and civil throughout Odle’s very long monologue, and even applauded along with Locke when appropriate, never once disrupting Odle.

Locke then followed with his very brief biblical presentation, but Odle’s crowd repeatedly interrupted Locke with heckling and disruptive outbursts. Not once did Odle ask his crowd to settle down, even as several of the hecklers moved about and visited with Odle for brief conversations directly in front of Locke.

When Locke concluded his opening presentation, Odle retorted with more combative language and continued his bullying posture while denying the Bible truth Locke had presented, which further incited his crowd to outbursts that put the security team on high alert.

Locke eventually decided he had seen enough and asked Odle to leave. When Odle responded by throwing his microphone at Locke, it was clear that he had gotten exactly what he came for.

The Global Vision Bible Church security team did an admirable job keeping the peace while Odle’s flat-earth supporters erupted with anger and took over the floor.

Several Odle supporters had to be restrained from rushing toward Locke while yelling profanities, and many more screamed at the small number of Global Vision members in attendance.

The visitors continued raging in the parking lot as some defiantly smoked marijuana. One enraged visitor rammed three cars as he sped away, further necessitating police involvement.

Sadly, despite four very difficult hours, the actual debate never happened. For this and for the bad-faith behavior of Odle and his flat-earth supporters, Global Vision Bible Church and Locke Media have decided to remove the event from all platform archives.

We will not help them promote their deceptive pseudo-science and dangerous conspiracy theories, as we consider them to be doctrines of demons. The truth is clear. The Bible never claims that the earth is flat.

Locke [photo above] recently appeared here when he declared that people in wheelchairs lack faith in God.

Locke, who is a regular speaker at QAnon conferences, earned national ridicule last year year when he complained that he was getting dildos in the mail after “exposing” six witches among his congregation.

As you may recall, a gay couple shouting “hail Satan” crashed Locke’s book burning in February 2022 and claimed to have thrown a bible onto the bonfire.

Pastor Dean Odle ran for governor of Alabama last year, finishing fourth in the GOP primary with 1.8% of the vote, which he, of course, blamed on election fraud.

Odle has published several books, including a defense of flat earth batshittery. From the Amazon description:
