WND Has The Breitbart Advertiser Boycott Sadz

From the totally reasonable World Net Daily:

A Donald Trump-hating Twitter user – who is too scared to reveal his true identity because he says he fears backlash from Trump supporters – is attempting to destroy a leading conservative news site with a coordinated campaign attacking its advertisers and claiming it’s “racist.”

The anonymous Twitter user, known as Sleeping Giants, is attempting to take down Breitbart News. It takes screenshots of advertisements on Breitbart and then harasses companies that own the ads, demanding that they blacklist the news site. And several high-profile U.S. companies are taking the bait.

Ironically, while Sleeping Giants accuses Breitbart of being a “racist” site, the Twitter account features raised black fists that resemble those used in 1969 posters of the Black Panther Party. A similar fist, though typically white, was used to symbolize white power, and another red version represented leftist Autonnomist Marxism.

The blog DigiDay says, “The creator of the account said he would prefer to remain anonymous to avoid being harassed by Trump supporters on the internet. He said he started the account because fake news and disinformation, are, in his opinion, two of the reasons why the election turned out in favor of Trump.”

As of Thursday, Sleeping Giants followed only 23 Twitter users – some of whom are actively helping Sleeping Giants publicize its campaign against Breitbart. And nearly all are linked directly to President Obama, left-leaning publications or far-left causes.

Because who an anonymous person follows on Twitter is proof of collaboration, apparently. Maybe WND should look at Trump’s massive following from literal Nazis?

Ah! Some good news. When WND is sad, I’m happy

Money and its loss may be the only weapons we still have in the new war against fascism.

    • Todd20036

It is. Human decency won’t work. And if your own child has to be reeducated because he’s LBGT, well, it’s for his own good.

And if he dies during his “education”, well he will be missed, and hope his damaged soul will be healed in heaven.

      Or some other happy horseshit.

People wonder how Hitler got away with so much before being taken down.
      Here’s your reason

      Money is the right’s god.

    • GayOldLady

I don’t know, I’ve been hoping some hackers who share our perspective get to work.

  • Do Something Nice

Yeah, it’s fucking leftist to not be racist.

    Welcome to the new reality.

    • All the more reason to never lend the right a hand. If your party don’t want people of color, we’ll take our business to the left.

      That’s just Fascism 101 talking.

  • another_steve

Of course, this entire ongoing flap is bringing hundreds of thousands of new readers to Breitbart’s hate site every day. That translates to big bucks.

    “All publicity is good publicity.”

    • Friday

Well, that’s their hope, but that doesn’t mean the ad revenue will be there.

The operative word here is “thought.”

      • Bj Lincoln

He never thought to look up the job requirements of the office he was fighting for. That failure lead to the quick uninformed ‘declarations’, from stupid things like wanting to go home on the weekends to he is moving to the WH full time but the wife and kid are staying until the school year is out. From shock at the enormity of the job to appointing people who are not equipped for the job. He didn’t ‘….doesn’t think about anyone but himself and what feels good at that moment in time. No thought to the future past the ‘victory’ parties.

        • B Snow

We could see he’s a two-year old at the start of his campaign. Why couldn’t the swing state voters see it?

Seeing those fiery explosions makes hope that both Trump and Pence let go with very wet fiery sharts as they take the oath of office and the mike is on them. Then they will have to sit back down in cold chairs with their wet bottoms.

  • I have a friend and family that consider Breitbart to be an honest source of information compared to mainstream media, yet for the past two days Breitbart has had breakfast cereal as their feature story.

Today, four of six of their feature stories are about their war on Cocoa Krispies…

  • Mr. Belvedere

This is rich, coming from the nuts at WND and their readership, who support “One Million Moms” harassing advertisers of gay-themed tv shows and even companies who dare to include gay families in their advertisements.

Its ok if they do it, but if someone else does….persecution!!

    • thatotherjean

White, straight, fundamentalist Christian Republicans are entitled to persecute non-white, non-straight, non-fundamentalist, non-Christian, non-Republicans, because God said so. Nobody is entitled to persecute them, so they have to make up things to complain about.

    • Librarykid

The reason they are OK with the One Million Moms staging boycotts is that they know the OMM boycotts are never successful.

    • Nasty Girl Brianna

The entire Right Wing in a nutshell.

  • Friday

Cause everyone knows the right wing has special rights to demand everyone else pay them no matter what horrible things they say and do.

    • Snarkaholic

What? You don’t want to fund your own persecution?? Why do you hate Jesus?????

  • Btw, all those lies about “liberal” university are just infuriating. Neo-Nazi propaganda can be found at all college campuses across the U.S. and it’s the young folks on these campuses that are being radicalized. http://miamistudent.net/?p=17018427

Here’s one such Nazi propaganda found in Miami

I think that the Koch brothers have been busy John Birching the U.S. educational system for a long while now.

      • ZhyKitty

        At the lower levels, maybe.
My daughter’s Medical school was ultra liberal (Wash U Med in St Louis), from the stories I was told while she was there..

      • Jerry

I refuse to donate to my business school anymore because they accepted a Koch chair of economics…teaching “free market” economics. Basically, a how-to guide to destroying the economy like in 2008. I still donate to the marching band and athletics.

    • Stephen Elliot Phillips

however this is not nazi germany where the population was what? 90% caucasian and christian? The USA is very diverse. Im not sure how they are going to get away with radicalizing the whites and suppressing the rest.
      Theres too many to suppress.

      • Yup. That’s their downfall. They’re under the delusion that they are the majority of America.

        • Bared Bear

I truly hope they’ve overplayed their hand. They think that rigging the system for a win means that everything is now under their control. But just because they have the beast corralled doesn’t mean the stallion is yet broken.

          • Librarykid

They have a tiger by the tail. Maybe it is a blessing that Hillary is far away from the unfolding disaster.

        • Uncle Mark

It’s that delusion that they are the “silent majority” or even the “moral majority,” because they only associate with those likeminded bigots in their limited bubble.

        • Oscarlating Wildely

From what they see, they are. That’s the issue: in their dinky ass towns, where everyone is white, Christian, hetero (oh, Mary, I know!), and loves Trump it’s just the coasts– you know, where people live– that is trying to shove that diversity down their God fearing, Bible bumping throats. And Herr Hair will stop them.

      • Librarykid

They unite all of the dispirit minorities under the banner of antisemitism; left, right, it does not matter. One size fits all.

      • Uncle Mark

Too true. Keep in mind that when Germany declared war on the United States, Hitler described the US “as a nation of mongrels lead by a cripple.” Don’t they teach history anymore? Did these people not pay attention? And we are a more diverse population than ever !!

      • B Snow

Thank you. Your post might be the first thing that’s made me feel optimistic since the election.

Interesting that the background image evokes the flag of the Imperial Japanese Army!

Wow…how unimaginative and derivative of the old German Nazi propaganda….with the nurturing mother and the tough, angry father. (Even the tie is from the 40s.)

      • B Snow

        Don’t forget the brown shirt….

    • Oscarlating Wildely

Note: This is Miami U in Ohio, named for the Native tribe that was there at the University’s founding in 1809. It’s in Oxford OH, pretty much a location that makes Mike Pence look like Bill de Blasio. The university has been able to usually keep the freaks at bay, but now the cockroaches are out.

  • Ray

I really can’t tell the difference between Breitbart and World Nut Daily.

    • Bared Bear

One rolls over and the other rolls under.

      • David F.

Isn’t that “they’re both what you find on used toilet paper”?

      • Librarykid

  • we’re still here

Well done, @slpng_giants. I just tweeted Spotify to tell them their ad is appearing on Breitbart.

  • Phaius

It really doesn’t seem to require more than one person to kick off letting these advertisers know. Many of them have no idea where their ads are going actually and a good number seem embarrassed when they find out.

    • Uncle Mark

It’s funny. In WND’s effort to delegitimize the advertising boycott, as being the product of the efforts of 1 to 23 people, they have reminded the rest of us that ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE FOR GOOD. Thanks, WND !!

  • Cuberly

It’s been pointed out that Breitbart’s melt-down could have the opposite desired impact. Basically their attempt to keep their current advertisers in line would discourage advertisers from appearing there to begin with.

If a site is so motivated to boycott you why risk appearing there to begin with.

    • Uncle Mark

And wouldn’t such a “noble, successful & ideologically pure” site only want those advertisers that support their racist ideals? How can you preach racism & xenophobia, when you have ads for Oreo’s, Skittles, and Rainbow Pops undermining your efforts?

      • Cuberly

That’s what’s interesting really. Breitbart has a younger demographic compared to the Fox News set.

If all Breitbart can offer, advertising wise, is Goldline and reverse mortgage ads they would most likely feel a bit of a pinch.

  • Xiao Ai

To the victors go the spoils.

Maybe she should contact the Trump campaign to see if she can work out a bail-out, sorta like the Carrier deal.

I love the smell of disillusionment in the morning.

      • Stephen Elliot Phillips

hope you didnt delve into the comments section. Its all her fault for buying a house she couldnt afford BS

  • Outlaw Woman

Though Breitbart has some Mercer money funding behind it, operations are run on a shoe string.
Contributors are mostly unpaid or very poorly paid, the main benefit for them is getting to see their bitchery in print.

An organized boycott against Breitbart would have a real effect if sustained for a few months at most.

  • sherman

Christ they don’t need advertisers, their right wing sugar daddies have given them at least 10 million dollars.

That’s even more than George Soros has given JMG. FACT.

  • Acronym Jim

Interesting that they didn’t deny that “fake news and disinformation, are two of the reasons why the election turned out in favor of Trump.”

  • Skokieguy [Larry]

“….legal experts are calling into question the legality of Breitbart’s boycotting calls. First Amendment lawyer Ted Boutrous noted that Breitbart’s push “to further its competitive position” violates laws set in place to bar “unfair business practices.”

    http://www.rawstory.com/2016/12/breitbart-attacks-on-kelloggs-may-violate-first-amendment-legal-experts/

    • Bad Tom

Trumps assumed aura of I can’t do anything illegal, because I’m gonna be President! doesn’t automatically apply to his White House staff.

Bannon may be in over his head with this.

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

And Trump’s assumed aura doesn’t make it true either…

  • ColdCountry

They’re worried about a Twitter account with 23 followers? Wow! They sure aren’t much if that can take them down!

    • Tor

It sounds evil. That’s what counts.

  • RealityBass

That allusion to “Autonnomist Marxism” is really going to upset a lot of people. Especially the ones that have no idea what it means (or how it’s spelled).

  • Tor

It’s ok when “one million” moms does it.

    • Bob Conti

Yeah, well, that’s because they’re white christian soccer moms. Or something. With sweaters. And pearls.

  • Gerry Fisher

Gee, I thought the Black Panthers were a community trying to “pull itself up by the bootstraps” while exercising their second amendment right. I just don’t understand why conservatives don’t *applaud* that! /s

  • StraightGrandmother

Ima gonna go give Sleeping Giants a hand on Twitter.
Thanks Joe for letting me know where I can do some good.

    • Maggie 4NoH8

      Me too!

  • BudClark

But when THEY boycott pro-equality sites, it’s “witnessing for Christ.”
