DeSantis: My QAnon Surgeon General Should Run HHS

The Florida Phoenix reports:

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday endorsed his own controversial State Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo for a top health care position in the next Trump administration.

DeSantis went on social media, where he called on his followers to repost a picture of Ladapo if they want to see him serve as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services once President-elect Donald Trump assumes office.

DeSantis’ promotion of Ladapo comes days after it was reported that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had been touting Ladapo. ABC News reported that sources indicated that those working on a Trump transition were taking the recommendation seriously.

The Miami New Times reports:

DeSantis appointed Ladapo to the post of Florida surgeon general in September 2021 after the Nigerian-born Harvard Medical School grad gained notoriety for his essays in the Wall Street Journal criticizing pandemic lockdowns, COVID-19 vaccines, and mask-wearing.

During his tenure, Ladapo has battled with public health officials over the safety of vaccines and threatened TV stations with criminal charges for airing advertisements in support of Amendment 4, the ballot initiative to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution.

During a measles outbreak in February of this year, Ladapo broke with federal guidelines by leaving it up to parents of grade schoolers whether to to vaccinate their children or keep them home to stop the spread of the highly contagious disease.

As previously reported here, Ladapo has appeared at QAnon conferences alongside the usual clown car of weather control, flat earth, chemtrails, Pizzagate, and adrenochrome crazies.

He first gained national attention as part of the coalition headed by Dr. Demon Semen, who says women get ovarian cysts by having sex with demons in their dreams and that most world leaders have been replaced by clones.

Anti-vaxxers are doing cartwheels in the replies.
