Fake Melania “Crashes” The DNC For Colbert Show

The Huffington Post reports:

Stephen Colbert found out where Melania Trump was hiding on Tuesday with the help of Laura Benanti’s impression of the former first lady. In character as Melania Trump, Benanti, standing in front of a Democratic National Convention background, greeted viewers, “Hello, Chicago!”

“Why are you there?” Colbert asked. “Oh, Stephen,” Benanti replied. “I am trying to uncover the secrets behind the Kamalanomenon. Like her plot to attract voters by making them — ah, what is this word — happy? And what is this thing she does where she opens her face and it goes ‘ha ha ha ha ha’?”

Every second of Benanti’s performance is hilarious. Also last night, Colbert hosted Nancy Pelosi and he deftly handled protesters who interrupted her appearance.
