Idiot: “When 9/11 Happened, We Didn’t Ban Planes”

Newsweek reports:

Colorado rep. Lauren Boebert has dismissed calls for gun law reform in the wake of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, because the county “didn’t ban planes” after the 9/11 terror attacks.

Speaking on Fox News’ Hannity in the wake of the massacre at Robb Elementary School, she suggested the attack showed that gun free zones are “deadly” and that bringing in stricter firearms laws would also not work as “we cannot legislate evil.”

As a number of social media users pointed out, while the country didn’t ban planes in response to the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, security at airports was massively increased and entire government departments were set up to ensure such a tragedy didn’t occur again.
