Changing America reports:
Residents in Los Angeles County who receive the COVID-19 vaccine will be offered a digital record of their vaccination they can store in their Apple Wallet, according to Bloomberg.
The county is partnering with software company Healthvana to begin offering the vaccination record to the Wallet app on iPhone or competing Google platform as a way to remind patients who receive the first dose of the vaccine to come in for their second dose weeks later.
The technology could also be a way for people to prove they’ve been vaccinated against the virus. Los Angeles County, the most populous in the country, has reported more than 733,000 cases and 9,555 deaths over the course of the pandemic, according to county public health data.
