“I’m not against welfare entirely. In fact, my mother grew up at times on welfare. And she needed it and she grew up in a project in New Hampshire, believe it or not, we have those there. But there was shame in that. And I’m sure she’d be mortified if she even heard me saying this. Because I think to this day she carries a certain – and I always say, ‘Mom you shouldn’t, because you really did live the American dream and you went to school and you became a journalist and that’s really such a tremendous thing.’ But I don’t know is there’s that same kind of shame anymore. There’s not the same kind of stigma.” – Fox Business host Trish Regan, on last night’s show.
