FOUR MONTHS LATER: Trump Cuts Promised $25,000 Check For Gold Star Family After Public Shaming

The Washington Post reports:

The White House says President Donald Trump has sent a $25,000 check he promised to the father of an Army sergeant killed in Afghanistan. The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Trump offered the money during a telephone conversation with the father of Dillon Baldrige a few weeks after the 22-year-old was killed in Afghanistan on June 10. The Post reported that White House officials declined to discuss the matter when contacted Wednesday morning. White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters said later Wednesday that the check has been sent.

Kaitlin Collins from CNN noted that his father told the Washington Post that the initial call lasted for “about fifteen minutes” before Trump made the promise to send over a $25,000 personal check “for his loss.” When Baldridge received a letter in the mail months ago from the President, the check was miraculously NOT included. Yes, this would possibly put the check on a four-month plus delay. There has been no update from the White House explaining the impressive delay or whether the check would have been sent without prompting from the Washington Post.

100-1 that check was cut from campaign donations.
