Ted Nugent On Comparisons To Kathy Griffin’s Trump Stunt: I Stand By My Call To Execute Hillary Clinton

The Washington Examiner reports:

Rocker and one-time White House guest Ted Nugent said Thursday he stands by his 2016 comment that Hillary Clinton should be tried and hanged for treason for her response to the 2012 terror attacks in Benghazi.

“I’ve never threatened to hang anybody. I’ve never suggested anybody get hung, except the one time after Benghazi, I recommended that Hillary Clinton be charged, arrested, tried and hung,” Nugent said in an interview Wednesday with conservative radio host Ben Ferguson. “What she did as secretary of state was certainly treasonous, and I stand by that.”

Nugent, a gun rights activist, has a history of making hateful comments about Obama, some of which prompted an investigation from the Secret Service. Nugent attended a dinner with Trump at the White House earlier this year as a guest of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Griffin has since apologized for the photo and requested the photographer take it down. She was fired from her CNN role on Wednesday.

More from The Hill:

“To compare what I said … we’re talking apples and grenades here,” he said during the interview. What Kathy Griffin did was downright vulgar, obscene, and a genuine variation of a death threat. I’ve never threatened anybody.”

In the past, Nugent has stirred controversy after comments that implied violence against Obama and Clinton. “Obama, he’s a piece of shit. I told him to suck on my machine gun” Nugent said during an appearance in 2007. “Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.”

In 2012, he said: “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”
