Log Cabin Ad: Good Christians Should Reject Roy Moore

The Hill reports:

A prominent Republican LGBT advocacy group is out with an ad opposing embattled Republican Roy Moore, calling on “good Christians” to reject him ahead of Alabama’s special Senate election.

The ad from Log Cabin Republicans features people praying at church and around a dinner table, saying that politicians are “attacking our values, our churches, our children.”

“It’s a time for choosing. We can’t stand on the sidelines anymore,” the ad’s narrator says. “It’s time for good Christians to do what good Christians do. Reject Roy Moore.”

  • Mr. M

I wonder if Guy Benson and co. realize their precious Republican party is now the party of “hate gays” AND “defend pedophiles”…

    • AW

      they would never realize that!

      • Mr. M

True. They are the “real defenders” of the LGBT community. LMAO.

  • bkmn

Just like a broken clock they are right once in a while.

    • coram nobis

Not if the clock is digital and without power.

      • David Walker

        Thank you.

  • netxtown

kind of slow on the draw there, LCR….

    • Bambino

They waited for the tumble weeds to settle before weighing in their opinions that no one cares for.

  • Tawreos

They are trying to get that letter from earlier rescinded.

    • Chuck in NYC

You beat me to it. I was thinking, “Careful, boys. You don’t want McDaniel to take back the ‘formal recognition.’ “

  • Blake Mason

  • shivadog

Holy shit, there is actually a Republican that is too awful for even the Log Cabin Republicans to support.

    • Boreal

but not so awful that they will support the dem.

      • Outloud.

      • SelectFromWhere

If they can swing the needed number of votes from Moore, that’s fine this time.

        • Boreal

          Good luck with that.

  • Do Something Nice

Given how much ‘the gays’ are hated in Alabama, this could be a pro-Moore ad.

  • MikeBx2

    They aren’t helping.

    • Judas Peckerwood

      When have they ever?

  • Boreal

No one in Alabama supports you LCRs or cares WTF you think. They hate you because you are dirty, dick sucking queers. Please make a note of it.

    • Tawreos

      “…dirty, dick sucking queers.”

Of course Alabamans would hate them for their only redeeming quality

      • Boreal

and in their ad they attempt to mentally fellate xtians by spouting xtian values bullshit.

        • coram nobis

          Probably stock footage anyway.

          • Boreal

Oh you know it. All one needs to do is look at what Miss Gregory fancies passes for a stylish coiffure. Not a creative bone in their bodies.

          • Linsey

    • netxtown

I’m doubting the bama boyz n girlz know anything about LCR. And whoever donated the $$$ for the ad is counting on it.

      • Boreal

Hopefully some nice RW xtian fundy group will point out who they are. Notice they do not ask for voters to elect Doug Jones.

    • KCMC

Acquainted with younger gays who do not know of LCR.
Perhaps tv-watching Alabama might as unfamiliar.

      Why, Boreal, you’re looking festive!

      • Boreal

Thank you. Today’s guilty charge. makes me feel a bit festive

    • JT

I prefer very clean dicks, but I might allow a smudge or two on the face.

    • Rambie

If their ad hurts Moore’s chances of wining the election good on them… the mighty FSM knows they’re not good for anything else.

      • Boreal

If people find out who is running the ads, Moore’s support will probably rise.

        • David Walker

Oh, I think simply by attacking the natives’ xn and/or family values, the ad backfires loudly and clearly. And perhaps most unpardonable: the narrator doesn’t have a discernible regional accent, which screams YANKEE TRAITORS. So this will be about as effective as a bug zapper at the North Pole. SOUTH Pole, that is. Sorry. …bug zapper at the South Pole.

          • SelectFromWhere

TV ads are always done in “standard American” accents, yes even in Alabama. Your comment is regionist.

          • David Walker

My comment is from an ad person with regional experience. It seems to me, and I would push for this, if you’re trying to sell something that uses their religion and their idea of familiar values, you face a lot less resistance if you at least sound like your audience. Less regionist (?) and more realistic.

        • teedofftaxpayer

Moore did say the accusations were because of the LGBT community. This gives him fire power. I do think if they elect Moore, advertisement should show that the Republicans supports Pedophiles.

        • Rambie

That is a possibility, it is Alabama.

        • SelectFromWhere

How often does anybody pay attention to who is behind a TV ad? If it confuses them or makes them not vote at all, good for LCR (for once).

      • Boreal

Now that’s a religion I could get behind or in front of, on my knees.

    • Ben in Oakland

Butt fucking queeers is what gets to them. Dick sucking is for their sisters.

And no i didn’t say that.

      • SelectFromWhere

But these days, it’s the “Good Christian girls” who are into butt-fucking so they can “save their virginity” [ /me literally falls on floor laughing] for marriage.

Maybe they should start making BROWN wedding dresses to indicate this…?

        • Ben in Oakland

Ooooh. That’s mean. Christians Girls and dat ol’ time buttseks? Say it ain’t so, Christian boys would never ever never ever buttfuck a girl. Straight boys never think about it,

  • m_lp_ql_m

So how much money does the LCRs have to actually run such an ad?

    • Reality.Bites

I’m guessing none, although ad costs are likely lower in Alabama than major markets. It’ll go on Youtube and the hope with ads of this type is they’ll go viral and be linked in relevant local media.

  • R W C

    DUH, you Log bumps!
Good Christians ought not vote for him, and bad Christians are sure to vote for him.

  • JCF

    Well, um…OK. I guess.

  • Judas Peckerwood

If only Roy Moore were a better Christian. You know, like Donald Trump.

    • Reality.Bites

They say confession is good for the soul. Look at Flynn.

      • 2patricius2

Plus there’s the added benefit of less prison time.

    • Beth Sanders

      Yes, i agree.

    • Tomcat

An ass by any other name would still be trump.
I put this above Beth Sanders so her answer would makes more sense,

  • Cuberly Deux

“It’s time for good Christians to do what good Christians do.”

    Follow the leader?

    • Reality.Bites

      Boycott Disney?

      • Snarkaholic

And then buy gallons of Starbucks and pour it down the nearest storm drain!

    • JT

      Drink that Kool-Aid now!

  • Jean-Marc in Canada
  • MT YVR

… uh. Darlins. Sweetlins. You DO know that those good Christians consider loathing you a pre-req to BEING a good Christian, right? So… they’re really, super extra special sauce, NOT listening to you.

How often did you get dropped on your head as a kid? Or are you into the nog already?

  • SkokieGuy [ChicagoAdjacentGuy]

They supported Trump but not Roy Moore because Jesus? Isn’t there some level of irony that causes you to be struck by lightning and be rendered forever mute? Certainly LCR has crossed that threshold.

    • David Walker

Perhaps the tin foil protects them.

  • Phil in Colorado

The enemy of my enemy is my friend…. for a moment….

  • 2patricius2

But, but, but Drumpf is the most pro-gay Republican president in our lifetimes, and he supports Moore. Surely Moore would also be our friend in the Senate…….

  • Treant

What a strong and amazing ad that will certainly convert 90% of the good Christians in Alabama to vote for Jones!

So, what I’m saying, is that Jones got maybe 2 votes out of that and the LCRs have proven themselves completely useless once again. They don’t care about “good” Christianity, they’re not “good” Christians, they care about winning the seat and fucking the liberals.

  • coram nobis

Is this going to hurt Roy Moore? Or help him?

I suspect that if Jesus Christ Himself appeared in an anti-Moore TV ad, the locals will probably dismiss it as liberal mewing. “Besides, this Jesus guy is an undocumented immigrant. And from the Middle East. Better stick with ol’ Roy — he’ll deal with that kinda riffraff.”

    • Boreal

With his dark skin, Jesus would be wise to avoid Bama.

  • JT

“Good Christians” should go to prison with Roy Moore and Drumpf.

    You’re going down, Drumpf!

  • gaycuckhubby
    • Todd20036

If Flynn Is pardoned, then he cannot take the 5th anymore.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

    Quislings still be quislings.

  • vorpal

    “Good” Christians.
    😹 😹 😹 😹 😹 😹

  • Todd20036

Reject Roy Moore, but accept Donald Trump.

  • Lazycrockett

You know Mensch may have been right all along , we may end up with President Hatch.

    • Tread

Which is scary as fuck since he’s got full-fledged Alzheimer’s-induced senility.

      • Treant

Just like our current “administration,” his handlers will deal with issues. But Hatch is less likely to get nukey.

  • RealityBass

Great, because Alabama Republicans definitely wait for The Gays to tell them how to vote.

This is probably counter-productive, possibly on purpose.

    • shivadog

How many people in Alabama are going to know what the LCR really are? I think it might actually help. It certainly hit all the “real Americans”, “save the children” and “Christian” bullshit that people always seem to fall for.

      • SelectFromWhere

I agree shivadog. The ones who support Moore aren’t exactly Mensa material in the first place…say “Jesus” a few times and they’ll believe anything. Or more importantly, they’ll get confused enough to just not vote at all.

  • Guess

    “Good Gays Reject Log Cabin”

    • KCMC

      Lawd. Belly laugh.

  • MrRobotoLA

Vote for Republicans who will stab us in the back, instead of the ones who will be open and honest about their hatred for us.

  • OdieDenCO

way to go LCR. I can hear alabama now “ain’t no faggot going to tell me how vote”

  • cowboyinbrla

This is LCR doing what LCR does best: making ineffectual gestures in an attempt to curry favor with one side or the other. For once they’re trying to curry favor with the correct side, but I’m not buying it.

    • Friday

Or knowing it’s reverse psychology if the Christians know who’s telling them that.

  • sequel

“good christians” are also not supposed to have buttsecks… not that these quislings care about consistency in their values. rather argue that good PEOPLE don’t vote for child molesters. basic human decency – a much purer ideal than christian “values”

  • Jeffg166

I’d really like to see a good christian. I don’t think I ever met one.

    • NZArtist

It’s a dichotomy. You cant be both ‘good’ and a ‘christian’.
The moment your morality is influenced by an imaginary friend any ‘goodness’ is suspect.

  • MassageBear
    • swimboy

Thanks for that. I’m now using my hypocrisy-meter to power NASA’s new ultrasonic wind tunnel.

  • AdamTh

I really don’t see Alabama christians, good or otherwise, taking advice for an LGBT group….

    • SelectFromWhere

How many people pay attention to who is behind a TV ad, though? Especially “Christian” Moore supporters.

  • Ronald Reagan is Dead!

  • No More GOP.

Wow. LCR really went out of their way to stop this. /s

  • LeeCMH

“Good Christians should reject Roy Moore”

    To the LCR:
“Good LGBTQ, Christian, and Christian LGBT should reject hateful Republicanism, including you guys and gals.”

  • Yeah, like Log Cabin has any influence in Alabama.

  • geoffalnutt

    “Good Christians…” = Jumbo Shrimp.

  • Ogre Magi

gays appealing to christians is like zebras appealing to lions

  • boobert

Those closet cases are against a republican? Pass the smelling salts.

  • GanymedeRenard

Riiiiight… Because good Alabaman Christians will listen to a group of privileged degenerate fairies who practice “sodomy.” Uh-huh.

  • royinhell

Good PEOPLE should reject the Log Cabin Quislings.

  • Jonathan Smith
  • Ben in Oakland

Waste of money. The people who call themselves good Christian s are the very people who think Moore is too.

  • Gianni

I’m wondering: Are good Christians the same as the real Christians?

  • JWC

    Poor beleagured Christiuans WAhhh

  • Ore Carmi

    They’re good for something?
