Robertson: Trump Should Pardon Everybody [VIDEO]

Scamvangelist Pat Robertson today called for Trump to shut down Robert Mueller’s investigation and issue a blanket pardon for everybody touched by the Russia probe.

Kyle Mantyla reports at Right Wing Watch:

Trump “can grant a pardon to everybody involved in this thing if he wants to,” Robertson said. “This whole thing has got to be shut down. He has every right to shut Mueller down and say, ‘You have gone as far as you need to and I have instructed my Justice Department to close you down.’”

“He can grant a blanket pardon for everybody involved in everything and say, ‘I pardon them all, it’s all over, case closed,’” Robertson continued. “I think that is what he needs to do … He’s got to shut this thing down, he’s just got to.”

Robertson is hoarse and appears to be slurring his words.

  • TK

“Robertson is hoarse and appears to be slurring his words”

    DIE. ALREADY.

    • Lizard

I would like to take this opportunity to repeat my theory that Robertson actually died ten years ago. The network proceeded to stuff his corpse and he is now puppeted by some poor unpaid intern who has to drive to the studio every day and stick his/her arm up Robertson’s ass.

Can we get back to the original Celtic name, Samhain.
I’m p issed off with the Christians taking over Samhain and calling it ‘Halloween’ and giving us baloney about holy souls.

i’m seriously p issed off with the Christian culture destroying all the ancient cultures like a giant bulldoze…..and come to think of it that’s how we were demonized – by the Christians condemning us for homosexuality.

But you’re right. Trump is a religion. You know what happens when you tell religious people their religion is crap – they just dig in deeper.

    • Octoberfurst

To be honest I am surprised that the evangelicals have not replaced the crosses in their sanctuaries with a statue of Trump. They really do almost worship him.

    • Chris Baker

There is one person on my FB feed who is probably the most devout fundamentalist baptist I know. She said she loved candidate Trump. It was baffling.

I can totally understand if a person voted for Trump because they hated Clinton. Holding their nose (i had another conservative friend who said he hated Clinton and thought Trump was a clown, but voted for him). Bur for a Christian to say they she “loves” Trump is just baffling, ignorant and idiotic.

And that’s why I don’t want Trump to be assassinated or die in orrice, I want him to be an utter failure and quit, or be forced out and revealed to be ignorant and corrupt.

    • JCF
    • Todd20036

It’s never been about God. It’s always been about white privilege, and using religion to justify it.

On some level, they know it’s all shit, but they need to keep the hope alive that despite being garbage, they are somehow “better” just because they’re heterosexual, white, and male

  • William

Gee Pat, if everyone is innocent and no crimes were committed, why would people need pardons?

    • dcurlee

Yep there hasn’t even been convictions yet.

      • Chris Baker

There haven’t even been any facts released! (or very few). Without knowing ANY of the facts, Pat thinks Trump should pardon them all.

The ironic thing is that Pat’s God isn’t even that generous, he makes you beg for forgiveness. In his religion, everyone is guilty until proven innocent.

    • Philly Mike

      I am asking here. . .
Don’t you need to be convicted for a pardon?

      • JCF

        See re Ford, Nixon.

      • JackFknTwist

        That’s what I thought .
From that case last week re ex-sheriff Arpio, …the judge said a pardon was an act of mercy not part of the judicial process.

Therefore Trump/turd can only exercise pardon after the judicial process comes to an end.
trump/turd cannot interfere with the judicial process itself.
        At least that’s what i think !!

The power to pardon is one of the least limited powers granted to the President in the Constitution.

The only limits mentioned in the Constitution are that pardons are limited to offenses against the United States (i.e., not civil or state cases), and that they cannot affect an impeachment process!

  • Rex

So, you want Trump to act like God, forgive your sins and just forget about them?
    Nope.
You’re in the minority on this one, Pat.

  • popebuck1

    1) Accepting a pardon counts as an admission of guilt.
    2) Accepting a pardon removes your 5th Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination, so anyone who accepted a pardon could be compelled to testify against – ahem – other figures in the investigation.
    3) The president can only pardon federal crimes, and Mueller has been working closely with the New York State attorney. He can’t pardon them for everything!

    • Gustav2

It is my understanding Trump can only pardon for federal law and once a person accepts a pardon, that person is guilty and loses his/her (side eye to Ivanka) right to the 5th Amendment. Therefore, any crimes against the state, he/she would have to testify or admit guilt. But, I’m no lawyer.

  • Dagoril

IANAL, but I am fairly certain that there needs to be a conviction for something before someone can be pardoned. But that’s just reality-based little ole me speaking!

      Even Pat knows they’re guilty.

    Pastor Robertson,

Please tell me where, in the bible, it talks about Jesus interfering with elections in other countries, crimes of collusion between a campaign and a foreign power that have helped a political party subvert the sovereign political process, and the pardoning of criminals that assisted in this process.

    I’ll wait.

    • clay

If Robertson truly believes “that Mueller’s investigation has been inexorably “tainted” by the fact that the Clinton campaign and DNC reportedly helped to fund an opposition research dossier during the campaign that alleged connections between the Trump campaign and Russia,” then he shouldn’t be saying Mueller has “gone far enough”, but “too far”.

Going beyond the investigation is what Starr did to Clinton- going from Whitewater to an affair with an intern….Robertson egged that on all the way! Plus- in accepting a pardon- you are admitting guilt.

  • Alternative Facts

Lets pretend President Obama were still in office, and there was an investigation into his administration by Mueller. Obama instructs “my Justice Department” to shut it down and gives everyone involved a blanket pardon. What do you think ol’ Pat’s reaction would be?

There is a very real possibility the United States of America has a dishonest narcissist in the White House who may have committed TREASON by working with our enemy adversary Russia to manipulate the electorate using espionage to unfairly get sworn in the Office of the President of the United States and dumb as a box of rocks, Pat Robertson wants to see Trump issue a blanket pardon on everyone around Trump before the federal investigation into wrong doing is over.
That is the most outrageous comment I have heard yet from the Jesus freaks.
Pat Robertson’s family need to immediately conduct an intervention right now and retire this old goat and lock him up into a managed care facility.

The only problem is, if Trump were to do that, I suspect that would be the straw that breaks the liberal/left/sane American camel’s back. The resulting uproar would be both brutally vocal and, I suspect in many cases, violent. Simply put, it would be war.

And assuming Lord Dampnut does this, what then? Pardoned is still guilty (as Arpaio is learning). Their time in the public sector is over: no public entity would grant them clearance to maintain the latrine at Arlington Nat’l Cemetary. And no private institution that valued its business would give them the time of day. Unless Robertson plans to hire all the pardoned, or the Mercers set them up with their own talk radio shows, they’re done.

Only his eye brows and lips move. He has a creepy ventriloquist dummy look about him. I was so fascinated with that I didn’t really hear what he said. Bla, bla bla , bla bla bla bla god.

Drumpf using his ‘power’ to pardon the whole bunch of crooks would be a gross use of the law. Setting the stage for a dictatorship of some kind as he always thought he was king anyway. He has ignored tradition and protocols at every turn and has proven to make bad decisions. So far the courts have stopped his travel bans twice and now stopped his tweet about banning trans people in the military stating there are no real grounds for doing so, just mean. He has done nothing but sign away every law/protection for the most vulnerable kids/adults/land/air/water. All because Obama touched them some how. No wonder his approval numbers are dropping.

  • motordog
  • Tom Furgas

He’s wrong again. Trump cannot simply wave a magic wand and shut it all down and pardon everyone. Hell, Mr. Robertson probably believes that Trump could pardon himself! That man is losing it, obviously. And in any case he’s even more full of shit than he used to be, if that’s possible.

  • Paula Key

Hey Pat: Let’s just pardon every Republican law breaker. If you voted for Trump and consequently broke the law – it should be a Presidential pardon. Just found that Pat is 87 years of age.

Ah yes, Mr. Blood Diamonds Pat Fake Strength Power Robertson … I know a lot of you don’t believe and that’s A-OK, I do and I like to smack these so called christians (LC deliberate) who claim to know Jesus so well, but work hard to ignore or deny anything Christ said with direct quotes. Hey, patty, you’re way passed ready to meet your jeebus. Why are you fighting it so? You are sooo way past your expiration date. Talk about things that need to “be shut down” can we start with you & your fellow scamevangelists?

  • 2patricius2

““This whole thing has got to be shut down…” What is Pat Robertson’s stake in this? Why is it so important to him to shut down an investigation of corruption in this Administration, and the involvement and collusion with Putin’s critters in the process? Looks like he is another run-of -he-mill traitor to the ideals and people of the nation.

You cannot pardon an innocent person. If they are given and accept pardons they can then be forced to answer regarding their actions without being able to use the 5th Amendment.

    • zeroagent

Yes you can. Those go to heaven on a Super Express Pass with their Double Innocence Status.

  • Robert Flanagan

In order to be pardonedtherewould be an admission of guilt. If that is the case then wouldn’t the President himself be painting himself into a corner?

    • boatboy_srq

What Robertson is saying is that high crimes and misdemeanors were committed and that’s OK.

If there is a more damning statement of the unpatriotic nature of FundiEvangelism, I have not seen it. Which is especially choice given how Xtianists wrap themselvws in the flag and praise Ahmurrrrkkka as the Last Xtian Nation given a mission from Gun-Totin’ Capitalist White Jeebus.

  • marshlc

For fuck’s sake, Pat, you’re supposed to at least pretend in front of the camera that you have some interest in justice, patriotism, what’s good for the country, etc. “I’m sure these charges will prove to be baseless, but of course we must let justice take its course, because the rule of law is the bedrock of blah blah and blah”. Nobody will believe you mean it, but you’re still supposed to pretend.
