Mitch McConnell Hails “Valuable” Bob Corker

Politico reports:

A day after a Twitter feud erupted between President Donald Trump and Sen. Bob Corker, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday said Corker is “a valuable member of the Senate Republican caucus.”

“Sen. Corker is a valuable member of the Senate Republican caucus and he’s also on the Budget committee and a particularly important player as we move to the floor on the budget next week and he’s an important part of our team,” the Kentucky Republican said during a stop in Hazard, Kentucky, according to the Associated Press.

Sen. Lamar Alexander also backed his fellow Tennessean, saying of Corker: “He is a terrific United States senator, and I’m disappointed he’s decided not to seek reelection.” The statements of support come after Trump blasted Corker on Twitter on Sunday.

  • Todd Allis

Ah, infighting. I wish it were the only kind of fighting the Republicans did any more.

  • Tomcat

McConnell needs Corker so he is going to such up to him.
    Maybe even suck him off.

Turtle knows sooner or later he’ll be on the receiving end of Turnip’s tweets.

Trump has made the “cockroach” GOP huddle together in unity

“A valuable member of the Republican caucus as we move to the floor our plan to screw the majority of people in this country to the benefit of ourselves and the other ultra rich…”

  • David Walker

I like this. 45 may think it’s the ultimate power suit, but he’s about to get a civics lesson he’ll… What am I thinking? It will have no effect on 45 and he’ll just get all pissed off and squirt his tweet piss in any direction.

      crushed nuts

    • Todd Allis

Yup, 電気アンマ is the electric feeling of the pictured nut-grinding. I have no idea what ingredients are used to make such a flavor. Edit: Apparently the flavor is black pepper and salt.

If we have to choose sides, sign me up for team turtle, but I insist on wearing a mask during the matches.

    • TominDC

I believe that’s salt and pepper, and the chips are black in colour (as pictured).

There’s a whole series of these and they were showing up everywhere on some parts of the internet a few years ago. I remember thinking the flavours were horribly mundane given the art work.

Gosh, and all those innocent Christians did was pass out posters linking gay people to abortion (?!), comparing the fight for gay rights unfavorably with a bloody photo of an (allegedly) aborted fetus. They were obviously the real victims here.

This video has been making the rounds to show that this is no different then the cake bakers refusing service.
Never mind that these people clearly weren’t there for that, only to cause disruption.

      • 2patricius2

And they apparently were already served their coffee before they handed out the posters.

Expect a large influx of PRicans to move to Florida and vote.

        • djcoastermark

Okay fine by me if they move here. But, the sad part is people have to leave their home “state” just to live. That is soooo not right. A beautiful place that is part of (what part does the gop not get?) United States of America.

          • canoebum

This is a deliberate ploy to empty the island. Once most of the native residents leave, the hedge fund guys and vultures like Trump will move in and buy up all the good property. Watch how fast it all gets fixed once the white guys have ownership.

          • Paul

If i won the lottery i’d buy up the empty homes and rehouse Syrian refugees.

          • canoebum

You could also try rehousing some Puerto Ricans. They need it, too.

          • Paul

True, rather not displace people if possible while figuring out the best to flip as many states as possible. Ok parents stay in Puerto Rico, grown kids get rehoused in purple states.

*Goes and buys a lottery ticket.*

This is what counts as standing by Senator Corker for congressional Republicans. Keep working on it. 🙄👿

  • JackFknTwist

The head of the Foreign Relations Committee, Corker, thinks that the WH is an adult day care centre…….where the carers are obviously not controlling the demented inmates.

Whatever about the British being shockingly incompetent and delusional on Brexit, they were able in the late 1700’s to control the Madness of King George, King George III.
How times have changed; having shaken off the tyranny of the British back then, the US colonies now have a similar madness problem……..however the Colonies have a shocking lack of being able to control the madness of the Day Care Inmate !

I’d be very reluctant to say the US should look to the UK for a ‘madness’ solution
[ or anything else ]…….but be aware that you can have Trump/turd strapped down, half starved, and regularly subjected to seriously degrading beatings and abuse.

It worked for King George why not for Trump/turd ?

If a side effect of The Orange Menace daily humiliations is burning down McConnell’s agenda, I’ll take as a silver lining in an otherwise dark sky.
