Fox News Host: Nobody From The White House Will Interview With Us About Bannon’s Ouster [VIDEO]

Raw Story reports:

Fox News host Leland Vittert revealed on Sunday that President Donald Trump had refused to let anyone from his administration appear on the network.

During a segment about Trump’s outgoing chief strategist Steve Bannon, Vittert noted that only Trump surrogates from outside the administration would discuss the staff shakeup.

“Noteworthy,” Vittert observed. “We, along with a number of other networks, have all tried to get somebody from the administration to come on today and to talk about this big staff shakeup. Nobody will.”

  • Lazycrockett

You are not going to give an interview to your soon to be direct competition.

  • bkmn

Maybe you should go back to asking about Russia…oh wait, this is Fox, they never, ever ask about Russia.

  • Gigi

Not even Conjob will discuss Bannon. When has that media whöre ever said no a chance to spew and spin?

    • Claude Jacques Bonhomme

whöre. The ö gives it a special flavor… like pickled herring.

what will fox say about 45 when the trump/Breitbart TV channel goes on-air and fox is no longer propaganda central of choice to the administration?

    • Reality.Bites

There are some things that can be taken as an indication Fox may be turning mainstream conservative. And they, along with the other news networks, have to face the reality that their audience is dying off. Their current formula certainly won’t attract many under 50.

      • johncAtl

And Rupert won’t live forever. His sons don’t seem to be quite as evil as he is.

        • Reality.Bites

I think they now have the additional problem is if their hosts, as opposed to guests, are too pro-Trump there will be pressure applied to advertisers.

As All in the Family once taught us, in a court of law you can’t beat a station wagon of nuns.

And in pressuring advertisers, nothing works like associating them with Nazis.

That’s one of the few quibbles I have with Rachel: she’s just as likely as the rest of the cable news wasteland to drop everything and devote her whole show to the “breaking news” Shiny Object of the moment.

“…and South Asia”? Well that doesn’t sound ominous at all. /s

    • SoCalGal20

What does Trump mean when talking about South Asia?

      • Bluto

Really. NK isn’t in south Asia, so who is he referring to?

        • Galvestonian

Don’t forget that China has been building manmade bases over some of the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea since 2014, much to the annoyance of other powers in the region—the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Japan all lay claim to parts of the sea, which is a valuable trade passage and fishing ground.

          • Kruhn

That’s SOUTHEAST Asia. South Asia is what used to be called The Indian Subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka).

          • Bluto

That’s what I’m thinking. He wouldn’t threaten Jina with nukes, please say he’s not that insane.

      • Kruhn

Afghanistan is sometimes considered Middle East, sometimes Central Asia, and sometimes South Asia. The “and South Asia” probably means we’re getting our noses back into Pakistan.

    • coram nobis

Plenty of insights on military tactics in Afghanistan and South Asia from an expert for Donald to quote.

But the worst o’ your foes is the sun over’ead:
You must wear your ‘elmet for all that is said:
If ‘e finds you uncovered ‘e’ll knock you down dead,
An’ you’ll die like a fool of a soldier …

If the wife should go wrong with a comrade, be loath
To shoot when you catch ’em — you’ll swing, on my oath! —
Make ‘im take ‘er and keep ‘er: that’s Hell for them both,
      An’ you’re shut o’ the curse of a soldier. . . .

When first under fire an’ you’re wishful to duck,
Don’t look nor take ‘eed at the man that is struck,
Be thankful you’re livin’, and trust to your luck
And march to your front like a soldier …

If your officer’s dead and the sergeants look white,
Remember it’s ruin to run from a fight:
So take open order, lie down, and sit tight,
And wait for supports like a soldier …

When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
An’ go to your Gawd like a soldier …

They are not wrong. Fred Trump, Donald’s father, was arrested in 1927 at a KKK rally. A newspaper report of the arrests said that all seven men arrested were wearing Klan robes. Fred doesn’t seem to have changed his mind about non-white people by the time Donny was born. Racism begins at home.

Snopes rules this story “Mixture”: some evidence for it, but far from certain. There’s CONCLUSIVE proof that Fred Drumpf was a racist slumlord! [both legally, and from eyewitnesses, who heard him use the N word, laughing about discriminating against black tenants]

  • Natty Enquirer

Well maybe it’s not such a “big staff shakeup.” Bannon’s opinion notwithstanding, I doubt the Chief Strategist was in charge of a lot of people.

  • TrueWords

    Hmmm…

    – Trump’s popularity across the board is falling FLAT…even those who voted for him are questioning MUCH and that is saying something for that population

    – Republican and Democratic legislators are openly and even mockingly questioning his fitness.

    – Trump has no defenses left and NOBODY fears or respects him politically.

    – Congress is not in session, so Trump has not had cause to insinuate himself into tax reform, healthcare, infrastructure, the debt ceiling, or anything else of import.

    – Trump will likely to go back to tweeting about repealing Obamacare or if some celebrity pisses him off.

    – Where the hell is Mueller?

You’re not alone. Every Friday night. In glorious black and white!

I have a friend whose GenX children refuse to watch any television or movies filmed in black-and-white.

Just think of all the treasures that they are denying themselves.

          • Jean-Marc in Canada

So true. I own so many of the old sitcoms, series and such. I just started re-watching Bewitched and the misogyny and sexism is so palpable yet so mesmerizing, you just can’t look away…then Endora, Doctor Bombay and and Uncle Arthur show up and all is forgiven. Also, can you imagine GenX or their kids watching All in the Family, Maude, The Jefferson’s or Sanford and Son….their heads would explode. Say what you will about 60’s & 70’s TV, they didn’t shy from showing the ugly.

          • Reality.Bites

A friend of mine (38, not sure which gen that makes him) grew up in Lebanon watching the Golden Girls.

So of course I introduced him to Maude. He said, “Now I understand where you got your sense of humour.” While I am quite sarcastic IRL, I never would use a personal catch phrase like “God’ll get you for that”

While Golden Girls was the pinnacle of Rue McClanahan’s TV career, I always thought that Bea Arthur shone most brightly as Maude, and Betty White as Sue Ann Nivens. But all three together?

For many of us here, reruns from the black and white era pretty much meant Lucy and the Honeymooners. Once colour became widespread, other pre-colour shows didn’t get much play, including the black and white episodes of the Lucy Show and Beverley Hillbillies.

So we really didn’t get much of a chance to watch even if we wanted. In an era of infinite choice, is it realistic to expect young people to be interested in the TV of half a century ago? I was 20 in 1978, and I can tell you that I didn’t seek out movies or audio recordings from 1929, nor would I expect to enjoy them much if I did. Some people would, of course, just like some people enjoy foreign films while others like romcoms, etc.

It’s a bit egotistical, in my opinion, when we elevate the pop culture of the past to having importance for later generations when most of us lack the same reverence for what’s come before or since. Most of it is crap we’ve forgotten ourselves and if something has managed to stand the test of time in our own affections, I think that’s good enough.

When Trump is lost, deserted, not having his points defended and is confused His only avenue is to revert back to the last time he felt good. Why is anyone surprised? Trump used Fox and played them. He doesn’t need them anymore. Bannon’s back at Breitbart and that will become the official government news source. All interviews and press releases will come through them. The next step and a frightening prospect. I hope I’m wrong.
