Trump Celebrates Insane Press Conference Meltdown, Thanks Rush Limbaugh For Praising Him [AUDIO]

Politico reports:

President Donald Trump praised himself on Friday for his Thursday battle with reporters — a more-than-hour-long meandering spectacle that one headline dubbed a “news conference for the ages.” Trump used his favorite social media platform to thank supporters who he said made “nice statements” about the speech and to take more aim at the press.

“Thank you for all of the nice statements on the Press Conference yesterday,” Trump tweeted. “Rush Limbaugh said one of greatest ever. Fake media not happy!” Limbaugh, the conservative talk radio host, described the press conference as “one of the most effective press conferences I have ever seen.”

Other observers, including reporters, commentators and Capitol Hill political types, reacted to the impromptu event with something of a collective jaw drop. CNN’s Jake Tapper described it as “unhinged” and an airing of grievances à la Festivus.

Perhaps Rush should elaborate. How did he mean “one of the most effective press conferences I have ever seen.”? Did he mean that Don the Con revealed his true self? Psychotic, unhinged, delusional? Or is Rush just on the same wavelength and Donnit said everything he is thinking? If so Rush needs another stint in rehab.

    • Tawreos

Trumpy is a product of conservatives spending decades listening to Rush and his clones. Rush has been ignoring facts since day one. Worse he has trained all of his followers to wait for someone to tell them what the facts really are and what they mean.
20 years of it and this is what it gets us.

  • Tiger Quinn

I just wish we could figure out if he’s actually insane, or if this is all a carefully coordinated effort. There’s lots of evidence for either.

    • Ernest Endevor

I kinda think they’re too incompetent for this to still be pre-planned. At first I wondered but now it seems to be coming clear that they have no clue what they’re doing. Which is not to say that they can’t do vast amounts of damage and that the Republicans are riding Trump’s coattails hard, but I’m beginning to think that the effort to find some nefarious plan is an effort to deny the extent of Trump’s madness and how out of control the situation truly is.

    • crewman

I think it’s a bit of both. He has instincts to stir up a lot of chaos and aggressively go on the attack and then just spontaneously respond in ways that more often than not play well to him. He has years of experience attacking people this way, where most people have never faced his kind of inanity and don’t know how to respond. He capitalizes on that confusion. That will increasingly fail now that more and more people are on to him. His only option will be to ratchet up the crazy to keep enough chaos to be able to play the one game he knows.

    • Kim K’s Kute Koochy✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

I think it’s both. He’s been talking & acting insanely for years but most people either chalked it up to a fake persona ( I did ) or found it illuminating. I’m absolutely convinced now that he’s truly but not always delusional, partially from his inner circle’s gaslighting. However, most of the time up to this point, his insane meltdowns happened too timely to be random indicating the clever president Bannon & co were running the show.

    • marshlc

I said months ago that I think he’s smart the way a wild animal is smart – he knows what tends to work, how to keep his enemies off balance, but I doubt if this is a thought-out strategy, it’s more instinct.

I do believe that there are people around him, probably Bannon foremost among them, who do have a plan, and who are using Trump’s instinctive instability for their own purposes.

It’s a dangerous combination. One solace is that Bannon will one day forget to keep his mask on and will let Trump see the contempt he most likely has for him. Then he’ll be purged.

    • bzrd

He IS mentally ill but before becoming BLOTUS, in his businesses, if you didn’t do what he wanted as another business or property he wanted to buy, he sued you and carried that through until there was no money left and you caved. He had no idea of how the government worked and thought the same tactics would work. Bannon is taking advantage of the situation which out here is called elder abuse, manipulating a mentally ill old man is abuse.

  • Skokieguy [Larry]

Dear Mr. President, is this book still on your nightstand at Trump Tower or is it in the White House now?

    • i am so glad my WWII war hero grandfather did not live to see this day.

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

My folks are in their 80’s and I fear that they will not live long enough to see the damage Trump has already done be undone in their lifetime. Frankly, if wonder if I will live to see it. If he gets his Supreme Court nominee in before he is impeached, we are all fucked for decades.

        • Halou

Wouldn’t all his decisions be reviewed if he is tried for treason? The Nolan Batman movies taught me that judicial officials have their case histories reevaluated if they get caught out as crooked. The same should apply to the Executive.

          • Skokieguy [Larry]

Don’t know, but I doubt that will happen with our Red Congress and Sessions as AG. I suspect when Trump is no longer the useful idiot, he will be forced to resign with behind-the-scenes threats we will never know about. He’ll blame it on an invented health crisis.

        • jimbo65

I’m afraid it’s going to take decades to undo what the Charlatan in chief and the GOP are doing to this country. If I live to see my 80s, there might be signs of righting the ship. Oh what a shit show.

        • Gerry Fisher

Regarding the Supreme Court, it’s too ambitious to hope for “zero damage.” We’d be lucky if just this one got in during the next four years. Pence nominations would be no better.

        • Steverino

Hubby and I are in our 60s and wonder the same thing. As well as wondering if our demise will be at the hands of Pence minions herding us into the Xyklon-B gas chambers while singing “Jesus loves me…”

          • Skokieguy [Larry]

If 100,000 national guard troops are actually mobilized, are boxcars next?

          • Steverino

I concede at this point we all may just being gaslighted. But if the National Guard story proves true, then all bets are off.

    • Kim K’s Kute Koochy✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

HE & PRESIDENT BANNON have that fuken book. Yup, they actually, literally do

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

Its been widely reported that Trump does. Are you being facetious or has there been reporting on Bannon too?

    We told you so…..

Well, the media didn’t take him seriously before, or just put ratings and profits over journalistic duties. You know who also dismissed fact checkers and verifiable evidence? Adolf.

Lots of Nazis didn’t believe millions of Jews were murdered in the camps in post WWII Germany.

Even today, there are still holocaust deniers.

    Sounds like Trumpanzees, IMHO

    • Snarkaholic

I’m concerned that he and his goons will realize that it’s “too expensive” to actually deport the people they’re rounding up…and will come up with other alternatives to get rid of them.

      • Todd20036

Indeed. That is why I mention camps a lot. I genuinely believe this administration is capable of doing that, and the Nazi congress will let him.

      • Acronym Jim

With an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S., camps and train cars would be an absolute necessity for the process of deporting them, so your scenario is entirely plausible.

Unfortunately, too many people don’t realize this.

        • Oh, don’t get so panicky over Jew-class travel and accommodations. Relax, they are very nice trains, very nice camps!

    • David Walker

We need to be concerned BEFORE he/they start to refer to it as “the immigrant problem” or “the refugee problem.”

    • Crazy Russian

I think there are quite a few of those deniers among trumplorables.

  • Tiger Quinn

        • bzrd

STOP this, we are not the British monarchy. It only will follow this line if BLOTUS and pence are gone the same day, otherwise pence will nominate a VP who might be ryan or another then congress will vote.

  • ColdCountry

This is starting to remind me of book five in the Chronicles of Narnia. There is this character, Prince Rabadash, whom wikia describes thusly:

Though he appeared gentle and well mannered, in reality he was a
cruel man who thought of nothing but his own pleasure, part of which was
due to his upbringing in the decadent, wicked court of his father.

Rabadash was a spoilt and rather childish man, who took delight
in tormenting others, often making horrifying faces to terrify his
inferiors. Because of his self-centered focus, he was unable to look at
the big picture, to make wise decisions when he was denied what he
wanted. Instead, he mulishly continued to fight for his own way. But all
his tantrums avail nothing when he faces Aslan and the Narnian and Archenland kings.

In the end, Rabadash’s impotent rage and lack of self-control rendered him a laughing-stock, and gave him his later title, “Rabadash the Ridiculous,” which is a succinct summation of his personality.
