Progressive Group Launches Campaign Pressuring Senate To Reject Trump’s Treasury Nominee [VIDEO]

Politico reports:

A progressive advocacy group is launching a television ad campaign designed to pressure Republican Sens. Dean Heller and Jeff Flake to oppose Steven Mnuchin’s nomination as Treasury secretary. The ads, paid for by the group Allied Progress, are scheduled to begin airing Wednesday in the senators’ home states of Nevada and Arizona. The TV spots highlight the money Mnuchin made running the bank OneWest, which has been under heavy scrutiny for its foreclosure practices. Nevada and Arizona were hammered by the foreclosure crisis.

It’s going to be impossible just to keep the status quo in place meant to protect the little idiots that voted for the even bigger orange idiot.

Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have put there head together –
      what could go wrong ?

Maybe Trump and Putin have deep bunkers. The base doesn’t, however they want The Rapture. Don’t they?

    • Chucktech

I blame Jesus. This is all His goddam fault.

    • The_Wretched

International reputation is a form of power and currency. Republicans are just pissing it away….not that Bush the Lesser didn’t do that already.

      • Oikos

It would have taken us at least two more terms of a Democratic president to recover fully from Bush.

Travel Slogan: “Alaska, taking civil rights away because we have nothing else to do in the winter….”

  • OdieDenCO

I think the dems would make a bigger impact if they “endorsed” Mnuchin. Pointing out how his policies of rape and pillage fit right in with the republican agenda, urging Flake to vote for more of the same at the federal level. reverse psychology always works on the weak minded.

    • DaddyRay

Considering Dems can’t fight every candidate that may be an interesting way to approach the situation but it will backfire when repigs just go with it and Mnuchin is disastrous for the US

    • Michael R

I sometimes wonder what it would be like to give Trump everything he wanted , causing the chaos to unfold more quickly .

    • Chucktech

“We, the Democrats, endorse Mnuchin because we want to point out his policies of rape and pil…”

“Thank you, Dems, that will be all now. Please be seated.”

      • OdieDenCO

those who can, try. those who can’t, bitch and moan about those trying.

  • TK

Mnuchin is a heartless, greedy Wall Street slimewad who would sell out his own mother if he thought there was a good profit to be had. He and Trumps other pics, esp. Tillerson, will take this country into financial ruin and chaos while reaping more billions for themselves and their friends. A perfect storm of total corruption brewing. They have no interest at all in helping the American people. I truly hope their nominations are rejected.

So much for THAT “co-equal” branch of government…

    • The_Wretched

If that bill had a chance in hell of passing, the courts would strike it down and it’d be a Separation of Powers issue. Steven King is anti-American.

There have got to be Republicans in the House and Senate who, while perhaps being awful people, perhaps being bigots, perhaps being unfettered capitalists, who are still Americans who believe in the rule of law, in democratic systems, in having a stable functioning government.

If complete disaster is going to be avoided, Democrats have to ally with those people. “Purity”, now, is as bad an idea as it was during the election.
