Chuck Woolery: I’m Still A Total Douche

Woolery fails to mention that gays are the best game show creators, as the only reason anybody in the world even knows his name is because Merv Griffin gave him that Wheel Of Fortune gig in 1975. These days he can be found hawking real estate in 4AM infomercials.

  • Dave B

I take a fuck you for the win!

  • Rambie

Every day these nutters find a new level of hysteria.

  • danolgb

Translated: “Government great as long as it protects religion. Government bad if it protects icky gays.”

    • Eebadee-eebadee-thatsallfolks

The stupidity of Woolery’s and others outbursts is that the “Government” hasn’t done anything. Nothing. Unless he’s referring to state governments of Indiana and Arkansas, who passed RFRA legislation, which he presumably is in favor of, but we all KNOW that this blithering idiot has-been game show host is really referring to the “Obama” government, which hasn’t done a single thing.

IBM, Walmart, Target, Salesforce, Apple, Microsoft, Yelp, Angie’s List, Honeymaid, Starbucks, Levi-Strauss, the Gap, Anthem, Dow, Eli Lilly & Co, etc., etc., etc. are not the government.

This complete nuclear meltdown they are having is because their supreme fiction has been exposed as a lie. They are not pro-business. They are not good for the economy. They are a self-interested antiquated little hate machine that promotes prejudice and ignorance and their RFRA’s are the straw that broke the camel’s back. The business community is sick and tired of their antediluvian asses and let it be known.

What we are seeing is really the final act of the war that’s been going on within the Republican party.

  • Jon

LOL! I thought that said “These days he can be found hawking real estate in M4M infomercials.” at first.

    • OrliJoe in Fla

      I did too!

    • Same here!

      • Warped, dirty minds think alike… and yes, you can add me to the list.

    • Todd20036

Sigh. Me too. I know where my mind resides.

    • John30013

I saw him on a commercial last night for some kind of health management device. It was in a restaurant so I couldn’t hear the commercial, but it looked like some kind of blood pressure cuff connected to some kind of wireless base station. Or something. Maybe. It had lots of flashing lights….

I remarked to my partner that Woolery looked pretty good for his age, and I was surprised he wasn’t dead yet.

I had no idea he was such a douchebag. I wonder if it comes with the job (c.f., Pat Sajak).

    • ChadSF

      Same here. LMAO!

    • Larry Ft Pierce

c’mon? kkkristians are the most inventive florists? REALLY?

      • Lumpy Gaga

“Yes, we’re having a wedding and we need every table to look like the front desk at a Red Roof Inn. CAN YOU HELP?!”

  • bkmn

Somebody misses his circle jerk time with Pat Sajak.

    • Eebadee-eebadee-thatsallfolks

Oh great! You just turned me straight with that image. Now what am I gonna do?

      • ETownCanuck

Go out for Pizza in Indiana?

  • delk

I am afraid to look at the woodwork!

There is serious crawling going on!

  • Gustav2

Notice how he has to start with a gross exaggeration. Do their tweets and emails come from a kit?

    • Dagoril

Yes. I think his are from Paris Hilton’s Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset. Google it, it’s a thing! 😉

  • barracks9

Yes, Chuckie – because as we all know, “The Dating Game” and “Love Connection” were paragons of morality and ethics.

    • Reality.Bites

I think he was Love Connection. Dating Game was Jim Lange.

      • barracks9

He did a stint on the 97-99 revival of Dating Game.

        • Reality.Bites

So he did. I wasn’t aware. But I still think Love Connection was sleazier anyway.

    • LovesIrony

he was on “Tattle Tales” too.

  • Eebadee-eebadee-thatsallfolks

Wow. Just wow. Joe, I don’t envy your job today. They’re popping up like one every 30 seconds.

They are in complete losing-their-shit panic mode.

    • Gustav2

Turning over a lot of rocks today. Hope he is wearing gloves.

  • HZ81

Say what, Mr. Morality? From his Wiki page…

Woolery and his first wife, Margaret Hayes have three children: Cary; Katherine; and Chad.[19] With second wife Jo Ann Pflug he has a daughter, Melissa. With Teri Nelson, the daughter of actor David Nelson, he has two sons, Michael and Sean.[20] Woolery married Kim Barnes in 2006.[21][22]

    • Gustav2

      Serial polygamist.

      • HZ81

        Serial asshole, too.

Look, Chuck — when you start living up to your own morals, give us a call.

    • Blake Jordan

Clearly he has done his part to “protect marriage”… snark!

    • sherman

I think the first 2 died of eating poison mushrooms. The third wife died of head trauma. She wouldn’t eat the poison mushrooms. (Thanks Henny Youngman)

      • HZ81

I’m sure they were suicides, but notice, only two of those ladies are wives. The middle woman he never married, it seems, but still had a baby with her. What does Lordy McLord say about that shit in their version of his book? It ain’t “It cool.” that’s for sure.

On Edit: Oh wait, you’re right. Three wives and a bonus non-wife with his baby.

So many ladies and babies, I can’t keep track.

    • Corey

This is a has-been game show host. He has no power over anyone or anything except for the remote.

  • Blake Jordan

Not the point you fucking wanker!

I hate that they have controlled this part of the message and have made it all about wedding services.

The original Indiana RFRA would of let anyone discriminate against LGBTs, including schools, hospitals,…

    • Todd20036

They don’t want to admit that a bigoted ambulance driver could not transport a gay person if he so chose.

  • I read that as “These days he can be found hawking real estate in M4M infomercials.”

EDIT: Jon beat me to it but it bears repeating.

  • Irish856

Hey Chuckie… What ever happened to One man and woman… You are up to wife #4… pretty sinful of you

Let he that is without sin cast the first stone

    • Clive Johnson

His sin doesn’t count. Why? Because he’s in a special category above everyone else–he has certain religious beliefs, and he’s a heterosexual.

It’s the same thinking behind southern racists. They could do all sorts of bad things, but they still weren’t black, so all was good.

The right-winger doesn’t change much, only his labels do.

  • jomicur

Who knew he was still alive? And who gives a crap?

  • sherman

I looked at his twitter stream, and I’ll award it 5 Bachmanns for right wing idiocy.

  • Clive Johnson

Yeah, because if his sectarian religious beliefs are rejected, then humanity couldn’t possibly have enough diversity or ingenuity or thought or other religious or philosophical traditions to come up with any other values. Reject some of the teachings and values in his church, and wham, ethical thought is over for humanity.

It’s precisely this kind of hopeless parochial conservative ignorance that’s behind so much anti-gay mischief.

  • Ninja0980

Washed up has been says what?

  • penpal

    …and gays are the worst #sinners out there. #Christians still serve #murderers, #serialadulterers, #thieves, #whores, #grifters, and #allthelike. #Poorbabies.

  • Ninja0980

On a different note, that GoFundme pizza thing has now over $200,000 bucks and the bigots have promised to swarm it when it reopens.
I’d say let them have their victory, just like Lestor Maddox of Georgia did when he was viewed as a hero for chasing three black men out of his restaurant.
History will be the judge and they will be on the wrong side of it.

    • Clive Johnson

Next thing is we’ll see a new pizza chain opening up, with everyone knowing that it’s not the pizza itself that’s behind the success, but anti-gay bigotry.

    • Gustav2

Maddox had more business for a while until it ended in tears…his tears.

    • noni

let the fund total show us the right wing frustration level.

It’s the christian batshit crazy meter

    • link please?

    • JohnZ48

It’s kind of brilliant. This obscure pizza parlor in some podunk town made a grandiose anti-gay declaration, even though no gays had ever interacted with them. Suddenly they’re artificial martyrs raking in money and free publicity. Seriously, the bigots are so easily grifted.

As a consolation, that’s $200,000 less going to republican politicians in the next election or in the church collection plate.

  • Palto

Doesn’t he have a new show on called asshole connection?

  • fiizok

I could have sworn “Chuck Woolery” was the name of a hirsute gay porn star of the 1970s.

    • Reality.Bites

      No, that was Fuck Wooly.

  • anne marie in philly

da fuq? I thought he was dead. with those attitudes, might as well be…

    FUCK YOU…………..

  • 2amor

I am really sorry but I have no idea who this guy is… Is he some how relevant in 2015? Seriously, no idea!

    • John30013

He was the original host of the Wheel of Fortune TV game show (back in the 1970s!), and he also emceed some other game shows (also in the ’70s).

      That’s it.

      • WNY

I thought he hosted The Newlywed Game?

        • John30013

He did that too, plus another one called “Love Connection” (and several others).

      • 2amor

        Thank you.

      • LookielouE1707

He was hosting Lingo as late as 2007. He also did a reality TV show called Chuck Woolery: Naturally Stoned. Quite the celebrity.

    • Chuck in NYC

He also hosted Scrabble, which for TV was more like a crossword puzzle than Scrabble.

  • MikeBx2

Woolery preferred the morality, ethics and faith of a government of never ending war, ever increasing debt, high unemployment and a dwindling middle class. But at least there wasn’t all this nonsense talk about equal rights and non-discrimination.

  • NeverEclipsed81

He was born in 1941 but I thought he retired of old age 30 years ago.. guess he just lost his career for being an annoying douche.

  • billbear1961

NO ONE is or can be more devoid of morality or ethics than the far right.

As for faith, belief in the supernatural, I doubt yours, on the right, is sincere.

If it is–I say if it IS–it has NOT prevented your total moral and ethical BANKRUPTCY, you fascist DISGRACES!

  • John Ruff

This proves, to me, that the further west you go in this country, the more fucked up they become.

  • noni

Ah yes the Chuck Norris crowd.

  • John Calendo

OH SNAP, Joe! Snap, Snap, Snap!

  • gaylib

Didn’t he become famous by basically being a pimp?

  • Gest2016

This guy is still alive? Who knew.

  • John30013

@chuckwoolery Says the man w/children by 3 women, now married to a 4th. Jesus said what about divorce? #selectivefaith— John M. Pisello (@JohnMPisello) April 2, 2015

    • TerryInIowa

I came here to make this comment. Jesus mentioned gays exactly zero (0) times. How many times did he mention divorce/adultery? I lost count…

      • StSean

actually, once when he healed the centurion’s “boy” and praised his faith.

        • Xuuths

He didn’t just heal the pais, he raised him from the dead.

    • billbear1961

Thanks very much for this, John.

There truly is no limit to their goddamned hypocrisy!

  • Cuberly

OT: The latest Benioff update. Salesforce is offering to move employees out of the state if they feel uncomfortable with the RFRA. Even though Benioff trumpets the success attaining the revisions to the RFRA.

  • LonelyLiberal

Is he now selling reverse mortgages? The face seems somewhat familiar, and I’m an insomniac, so I’ve probably seen him.

  • Bill T.

Chuck is worried he won’t have a place to live after he gets his last reverse mortgage payment next month.

  • RJ Tremor

9 of the last 10 stories involve talking heads spazzing out. Ugh.

    • Todd20036

Surprised? The GOP managed to bring their bigotry to the surface for all to see. Outside of the GOP echo chamber, people are appalled, including various religious people, people who believe in (genuinely) small government, anyone who thinks the Constitution doesn’t apply to just Christians, and that’s just people not on the left.
Throw in big business getting out of the hate states, and the tea baggers fold like tissue in water. They claim to worship God, but they really worship money, and that takes precedent.
The haters who see the baggers caving to the almighty dollar are seriously pissed, and quite neutered.

      • RJ Tremor

Nah, doesn’t surprise at all. It’s funny about all the different camps these controversies have brought out though. You have the folks like us who point out the fact these laws and such are grossly offensive and oppressive, the folks who vociferously claim that the laws are maligned and misinterpreted and smeared by people(us) who apparently don’t know any better about such things and believe the media rather than their “facts” while ignoring the fact folks whose careers in these fields are the ones that have been siding with us all along, and then there are the folks like Bryan and Peter and Mat and so on and so forth that prove everything camp two has been trying to deny(discrimination today, tomorrow, forever…). If anything, you can count on camp three, the Christian bigots, to prove to the ill-informed what we already know, that it’s all about an excuse to hate based on the one who makes everything right, Jesus.

    • billbear1961

Gets on the nerves, doesn’t it, RJ?

      • RJ Tremor

It does. It gets old, it gets depressing, and it makes me wonder if I keep up with this stuff way too much. I hate to say “Screw humanity, nuke from orbit please”, but sometimes I wonder if we’re better off that way. (No, we’re not, because there are more than enough good people out there to balance it out, I know…)

        • billbear1961

I understand exactly how you feel!

  • LovesIrony

papa would do whatever he could, sell a couple bottles of doctor goods. Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves

  • JJS_prime

The govt is supposed to be devoid of faith, you stupid douchebag. It isn’t a person.

  • Kissmagrits

An America that’s devoid of morality and ethics? Imagine that! That sounds like the Christianist grifter who money begs at 4 AM on the local cable channel. And, another thing, Mr. Woolery – morality in sexual matters relates only to age appropriate, consensual, non-exploitive, non-harming conduct – and the rest of it is none of your effing business.

As for America’s deteriorating morality, look no farther than any legislative body, local, state or federal, and you’ll find people with your mind set selling the rest of us down the river while spouting tired Old Testament crap.

  • Phaius

It’s so hard to remain relevant these days for a never-was.

  • lymis

Yeah, Chuck, the real point is whether or not bigots make the best products. The point is that the customers should have the right to make that choice.

Nobody is saying that once these assholes are outed, anyone should be patronizing them. Just that they shouldn’t have the right to turn people away.

  • Octavio

El Woolery can often be seen towering over people at the luggage carousels in SLC Intl. Airport. Several years ago friends spotted him and set him up for the old “Whoops, I’m sorry” back fall. One friend bumped into him hard enough that he fell back over the luggage another friend had conveniently placed behind Woolery’s legs. It was a fun moment and totally innocent. Totally! You can’t prove anything. I didn’t even write this.

  • TheManicMechanic

    Woolery = Foolery.

  • Will Kick Ass For Food

Wasn’t the whole point of Love Connection to try to pair up heterosexual couples for pre-marital sex? Shut the fuck up, Fornicator!

  • Thanks for the background. My first reaction was “Who’s Chuck Woolery, and why should I care?”

  • TexPlant

I am willing to bet that you would find scads of kiddy porn in his browser history! The old perv!

  • goofy_joe

I guess it shouldn’t, but it continues to surprise me when people from media/hollywood turn out to be against the gays. I mean, it’s not like we control the creative world, but we are a big and visible contributor. How can these people, many of whom got help along the way from gays, turn their backs on those people?

    • houstonray

You echoed my thoughts as well. I am continually surprised (as I was with this) when I hear them come out and make such crazy statements. All I can thin of is how many gay friends and coworkers and help they’ve had along the way….so sad….

Oh, I remember him. I thought he was cute back then. Too bad about the douchebag part.

  • Sean

ROFLMAO. He says while unethically using pro-LGBT Twitter to bash LGBT people and those who do not support Jim Crow savagery.

  • Greg B.

You can also hear him on Sirius doing commercials for arthritis cream and anything else they’ll pay him a few bucks for. Wife #4 must have expensive tastes.
