GOP Rep To Divorce After Alleged Affair With GOP Rep

The Daily Mail reports:

Glamorous GOP Rep. Beth Van Duyne broke her silence on her love affair with married Georgia Republican Rich McCormick, confirming that they are “happily engaged in a relationship.” DailyMail.com exclusively revealed the pair had developed a particularly cozy relationship just as McCormick and his wife have filed for divorce.

Footage from the March 7 State of the Union address shows McCormick stroking Van Duyne’s arm, and sources say this is commonplace for the seemingly smitten pair. They’ve been caught arriving at and leaving late night events together, and multiple eyewitnesses have seen the pair holding hands just off the House floor.

The Daily Beast reports:

Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA) is calling it quits on his marriage of 12 years, filing for divorce from his oncologist wife earlier this month even as Capitol Hill insiders report seeing him cozy up to another Republican lawmaker. A petition for divorce was filed by McCormick on May 3, according to Gwinnett County court records.

A mutual restraining order was filed in the case docket on the same day. The Daily Mail first reported the pending divorce on Thursday. Asked by the outlet about her husband’s reasons for the divorce, Dr. Debra Miller replied in a text that she wasn’t sure McCormick would be “forthcoming.”

When pressed about the possibility of an affair hanging over their relationship, Miller replied, “You should ask Rich and his colleague,” according to the Mail.

McCormick and his wife have been married since 2011 and have seven children. A freshman, he first appeared here days after his January 2024 swearing-in when Capitol Police accosted him for doing pull-ups on a railing 200 feet above the Capitol dome floor. McCormick was the author of the resolution censuring Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

Now-GOP Rep. Beth Van Duyne first appeared here in 2017 when Trump appointed her to a HUD post after a wild history of making false claims that a “Sharia law court” had been established in the Texas town where she served as mayor. That claim earned her the “Texas Lie Of The Year” award. Van Duyne appeared here again in 2021 when her campaign manager shot himself to death on her front lawn.

This is all what Jesus would want.
