Feds: Ex-Trump Advisor Falsified Foreign Agent Records

The Messenger reports:

Federal prosecutors have leveled two charges against Barry Bennett under the Foreign Agents Registration Act: a conspiracy charge and a substantive count. Bennett served as a campaign manager for Ben Carson in 2016 before advising the Trump campaign.

After Trump’s election to the White House, he joined with former Trump 2016 campaign manager Corey Lewandowski to open up the lobbying firm Avenue Strategies, the entity whose records Bennett allegedly falsified, according to the criminal information.

Bennett last appeared here in 2017 when he celebrated the “political gift” of a US-bound caravan of migrants, declaring that he hoped that the migrants were carrying heroin. In 2016 when Trump called for imprisoning Hillary Clinton, Bennett told CNN that “you couldn’t get the truth out of Hillary, even if you waterboarded her.”
