Right-wing provocateur Benny Johnson has deleted and expressed regret over a “poorly-worded tweet” that drew the ire of Donald Trump’s supporters over the weekend.

In his initial tweet, Johnson announced that he was “Back in Iowa” and that his fans could catch him “on the campaign trail with @VivekGRamaswamy.” The response from Trump World was furious.

On X, devout Trump disciple Laura Loomer remarked that she would never “forget this.” “Really nice of you to stab him in the back after you bragged about having dinner with him at Mar a Lago. Despicable,” she added.

He last appeared here when he declared that COVID was “designed to wreck our elections.” In November, he called Sen. Bernie Sanders a “dirty, schleppy bum.” Johnson previously earned the ire of the cult when he adopted Tucker Carlson’s speaking cadence and “just asking questions” style in his podcasts.
