Multiple political sources on Twitter are reporting that Colorado GOP Rep. Doug Lamborn will not seek reelection, with one reporter quoting him as saying, “I’m not getting any younger.”
Now in his ninth term, Lamborn has a 0% rating on LGBTQ issues from the Human Rights Campaign.
In December 2020, Lamborn was among the 126 House Republicans who signed onto a Supreme Court amicus brief seeking to overturn Biden’s win.
Lamborn has called the COVID pandemic a “hoax” and in 2021 he was sued by a staffer for “recklessly” exposing Capitol Hill employees to the virus.
Also in 2021, Lamborn headlined an event held by a loony televangelist who claims Jesus can “turn off your COVID receptors.”
Lamborn first appeared here in 2010 when he filed a bill to end all federal funding for PBS and “kill Sesame Street.”
Last year the Office of Congressional Ethics alleged that Lamborn misused his congressional staff and resources by having aides run errands for his family and that he solicited or accepted improper gifts from his subordinates.
WOW! Republican Congressman Doug Lamborn held off several caucus and primary attempts to replace him. This safe GOP seat in Colorado Springs was basically his as long as he wanted. Now all 3 Republican-held Congressional seats in Colorado are open. #copolitics https://t.co/QHtbi2RvzD
