Arrests Made In Heist Of Bling Bishop’s $1M In Jewelry

The New York Times reports:

Two men have been arrested in the July robbery of a Brooklyn pastor, who had what the police said was more than $1 million in jewelry taken from him at gunpoint during a sermon that was caught on a livestream video, prosecutors in Brooklyn said Wednesday.

Juwan Anderson, 23, and Say-Quan Pollack, also 23, face charges in connection with the armed robbery. They are set to make appearances in federal court in Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon. A third person was charged but remains at large, prosecutors said.

The pastor, Lamor M. Whitehead, is a bishop at Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Canarsie, and an ally of Mayor Eric Adams.

Whitehead last appeared on JMG when he called two of his critics “fat pig” and “faggot” during a live-stream.

Before the jewelry incident, Whitehead gained headlines for attempting to broker the surrender of a subway shooter directly to the mayor rather than to police.

Whitehead, who drives a Rolls Royce convertible, has himself served five years in prison for identity theft and larceny.
