The Associated Press reports:
Pennsylvania’s top election official, in an apparent response to President Trump, told reporters Tuesday that the Department of State will determine when the election is over.
“Vote counting is never finished on Election Day,” said Secretary Kathy Boockvar, noting that overseas and military ballots can arrive up to a week after the election. “We are the only ones who can actually declare a result of an election or an election count being over.”
Trump has threatened legal action to halt the counting of mail-in ballots received during the three days after the election. Boockvar said the “overwhelming majority” of ballots will be counted in a few days and that officials’ top priority is “accurately counting every legal ballot.”
