WI Residents Flock To Bars After Lockdown Overturned

Milwaukee’s ABC News affiliate reports:

Following Wednesday’s Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling overturning Gov. Tony Evers’ stay home order, the Tavern League of Wisconsin issued this directive on social media to bars: “open immediately.”

The Tavern League is a powerful trade association, advocating for bars across Wisconsin. It also encouraged establishments to follow Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation guidelines, which includes face masks and gloves for employees, and social distancing when possible.

The Iron Hog Saloon in the Town of Port Washington opened its doors at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Owner Chad Ardnt said his nine employees had not been paid in months. Customers inside the bar Wednesday did not wear masks.
