Especially with the world in its current state of disarray, Mother’s Day (May 10) is an important time for everyone to show their moms the love and appreciation they deserve — and Alex Newell has the perfect video to do just that.

Today Newell unveiled his new video for “Mama Told Me,” a disco-tinged anthem where he sings directly to his mom, thanking her for everything she’s done throughout his life.

The video for the song serves as a thank you to more than just Newell’s mom, though — throughout the new clip, a number of photos appear showing various stars with their moms, including Adam Lambert, Shangela, Laverne Cox, Danielle Brooks, MJ Rodriguez and Newell’s former Glee castmates Jenna Ushkowitz and Amber Riley.
