ABC New York reports:
New York City topped 5,000 positive cases of COVID-19 as a surge in new infections coincided with an increase in testing and rising concerns that medical supplies are running out.
The cases are increasing as testing begins to ramp up – an increase that Mayor Bill de Blasio likened to an “explosion.” He also warned that hospitals are in dire need of critical supplies.
The Brooklyn Diocese closed its churches after two priests tested positive for COVID-19. There will be no more funerals, weddings, and baptisms, which were previously limited to 10 people. The diocese says that continuing these services “is proving not to be feasible.”
Coronavirus cases in NYC increase 42% in just 24 hours — to 5,151 across the five boroughs https://t.co/8Rx4i5wfMN
