Alan Dershowitz: Putting Electoral Interests Ahead Of National Interests Is Not Close To Being Impeachable

“It doesn’t really matter whether they prove it because that wouldn’t be an impeachable offense. It’s not even close. What they say in the report is that he put his own electoral interests over the national interests of the United States. If that became a criteria for impeachment, half of our presidents could be impeached.

“How many presidents put their electoral interests before the national interests?

“It’s too bad and if they do you can take that into account when voting for somebody but even if the evidence were to have established that it does not, in my view, establish what they claim it does, it wouldn’t even be close to being an impeachable offense.” – Alan Deshowitz, last night.
