The New York Times reports:
Attorney General William P. Barr on Friday vigorously defended President Trump’s use of executive authority and suggested that House Democrats were subverting the will of voters by exploring whether to remove the president from office for abusing his power. Mr. Trump campaigned on a vow to upend Washington, and voters were aware of his agenda when they elected him president, Mr. Barr said.
“While the president has certainly thrown out the traditional Beltway playbook and punctilio, he was up front about what he wanted to do and the people decided they wanted him to serve as president,” Mr. Barr said in a speech at a conference hosted by the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group influential in Republican politics. Mr. Trump’s opponents “essentially see themselves as engaged in a war to cripple by any means necessary a duly elected government,” Mr. Barr added.
Ah, the Nazi tactic of accusing your enemy of what you yourself are guilty of. Here, White Power Bill uses it to defend the cockamamie notion that Trump should have Fuhrer-like powers.
Good news for Barr: in prison, they have a gang he can join that’s really into this stuff. https://t.co/YGDBjmwz0l

I encourage everyone to read Bill Barr’s viciously partisan speech to @FedSoc.
Its hackery and intellectual dishonesty is an utter embarrassment to the DOJ, @FedSoc, and to all of us (yes, me, too) who try to be intellectually honest about textualism & original public meaning. https://t.co/OES7UIfjha

PLEASE read what Bill Barr said Friday in a speech. It sounds like he’s preparing to support Trump by laying ground work to silence critics: Barr stated “…it is the Left that is engaged in a systematic shredding of norms and undermining the rule of law” https://t.co/35q5PMeKuE

Which Democrats would you most like to see arrested in the Barr-Durham probe?

AG Bill Barr: “Immediately after President Trump won election, opponents inaugurated what they call ‘The Resistance’ and they rallied around an explicit strategy of using every tool and maneuver to sabotage the functioning of the executive branch.” pic.twitter.com/HJJMczuEpd

I read Bill Barr’s speech to the FedSoc just now. I think it is best delivered while wearing a uniform and mirrored shades, and while standing on a balcony.

Bill Barr is the type of bare knuckles lawyer the Church would have hired thirty years ago to cover up sex abuse cases. The bishop would have been someone like Rep. Jim Jordan. Neither of these men belong anywhere near the impeachment inquiry.
