The Associated Press reports:
Turkish forces approached a key Kurdish-held town in northern Syria on Sunday, setting off clashes that allowed hundreds of Islamic State supporters to escape from a camp for displaced people and prompted U.S. soldiers to withdraw from a nearby base.
A U.S. military official said the situation across northeastern Syria was “deteriorating rapidly” and that American forces were cut off from the Syrian Kurdish fighters they had previously partnered with.
The official, who was not authorized to disclose operational details and spoke on condition of anonymity, said U.S. troops on the ground are at risk of being “isolated” and cannot travel overland without a “high risk” of armed confrontation with Turkey-backed forces.
The escape of hundreds of #ISIS family members from Ain al Issa camp in northern #Syria is an entirely predictable result of #Turkey‘s incursion. It was an opportunistic jail break that observers of the region saw coming from miles away.

Seems like Democrats should be fanned across all media making a huge stink about how Trump has intentionally put US servicemembers in mortal danger and allowed ISIS fighters escape and regroup?

3/ We are outside Qamishli. More and more refugees on the road. These people just passed us. They are Kurds from Ras al Ayn and are already on the run since Wednesday.
They are so, so scared.@akhbar pic.twitter.com/WN02jAq14G

4/ I just passed SDF checkpoint in northern Syria. Due to escape of ISIS prisoners today, there are new rules at checkpoints: Every vehicle must be stopped & if necessary searched. Each passenger must show ID.
Kurds here very worried that ISIS might go on local killing spree.
