HUD Official Gets Stern Letter For Hatch Act Violations

Remember a few months ago when this Trump lackey declared “I don’t give a shit” about Hatch Act violations and dared her critics to come after her?

The Office of Special Counsel has reprimanded Lynne Patton, a top Department of Housing and Urban Development official with ties to President Donald Trump’s family, for making political statements on the job. Patton, a HUD regional administrator for New York and New Jersey, used her official government Twitter account to promote political tweets and displayed a red “USA” hat sold by the Trump campaign in her office.

The OSC issued Patton a warning letter after determining that both activities violated the Hatch Act, which prohibits executive branch officials from certain political activity while on duty. But the office also “decided her violations do not warrant disciplinary action,” Erica Hamrick, deputy chief of the OSC’s Hatch Act Unit, wrote in a letter Wednesday to the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics.

Patton last appeared on JMG when she declared that Hillary Clinton had Jeffrey Epstein murdered.

Earlier this year she was trotted out during a US House hearing as evidence that Trump isn’t racist.

She has also mocked death threats against Rep. Ilhan Omar and called reporter April Ryan “Miss Piggy.”
