President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, is mulling a run against Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.). “I’m seriously considering it,” Lewandowski wrote in a text message to POLITICO today.
A New Hampshire TV station, WMUR, reported earlier today that Lewandowski had been discussed as a potential candidate at a Republican National Committee meeting in Charlotte, N.C. Shaheen, who’s running for a third term, narrowly defeated former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) in 2014, winning with 51 percent of the vote.
He didn’t respond to questions about whether he’d discussed his potential Senate run with Trump or the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He hasn’t been actively recruited by the NRSC, according to people familiar with the matter.
