Billboard Magazine reports:

“Old Town Road” is unstoppable. Lil Nas X’s smash hit continues to dominate the Billboard Hot 100, as it notched an 18th week atop the chart on Monday (Aug. 5).

The 20-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down, but he does take time to enjoy the moment and soak in the accolades with his clever social media commentary.

“18 WEEKS AT #1,” he wrote with a pair of heart and horse emojis along with a photo of himself and Billy Ray Cyrus back-to-back in their cowboy outfits during a scene from the “Old Town Road” music video.

The Independent reports:

US rapper Lil Nas X says he has been living life to “its fullest potential” since coming out as gay. “Live your life to its fullest potential and don’t really care too much about what other people think of you,” Lil Nas X said.

“I used to say that cliché, but I never really lived by it, until now.” The star also revealed that he has been approached by a number of gay men in the hip hop community who said he was making strides for representation.

However, he admitted that he still strugges with “having to be a voice” in a rap landscape often associated with entrenched homophobia.
