NBC News reports:
President Donald Trump is expected to announce on Thursday that he is taking executive action to add a citizenship question to the census, according to an administration official.
Trump tweeted that he will hold a press conference in the afternoon to discuss his latest efforts at including the citizenship question as part of the census.
BC News confirmed that at the news conference the president is expected to announce his executive action to add the question. Last week, Trump told reporters on the White House South Lawn when asked if he would issue an executive order: “We’re thinking about doing that.”
Trump cannot simply override the Supreme Court with an executive order and you can expect that lawsuits are already ready to launch.
