BRITAIN: Trump Supporters Scuffle With Police, Attempt To Make Citizen’s Arrest Of London Mayor [VIDEO]

Sky News reports:

Supporters of US President Donald Trump have disrupted a speech by Sadiq Khan, calling for the London Mayor to be arrested.

Mr Khan was about to start speaking to the Fabian Society in London when he was disrupted by protesters from a group called the White Pendragons, who shouted pro-Trump and pro-Brexit slogans.

It came after a tweet by Mr Khan on Friday, in which he said Mr Trump had “got the message” that he was “not welcome” in London after the President cancelled a planned visit to open the new US embassy.

In a video posted on social media, one protester could be heard saying: “Ladies and gentlemen, we’re here today to make a non-violent, peaceful citizen’s arrest.”

    • Joseph Miceli

Hey Blake! Fuck you. Go sow disunity somewhere else. WE all know that what happened in the past is in the past. Next election we all vote for whoever the Dem candidate is. No more Trumps!

      • Blake J Butler

Have to bring it up as a reminder because some still will not in the end support the democratic candidates, last year in Virginia and New Jersey with the purity crusade trying to run again that its better to not vote or to vote with your conscience, even if it means voting for a candidate that has a shot in hell of winning compared to one that meets at least 3/4ths of your ideal beliefs, compared to a republican who will gain votes from throwaway votes and people staying home.

        Bye bitch.

        • Joseph Miceli

And you do their job for them by spreading disunity. Fuck you, Mary.

          • Ninja0980

Take it up with the Bernie supporters like Konst and Turner who seem to be more concerned with undermining anyone who doesn’t worship Bernie then Democratic unity.

          • BourbonGal

Democrats are by nature nonunified as they operate according to personal individual moralities. The GOP always fall in line because they understand that they are in the minority and they must be 100% unified to win. The dems could use a little more lock stepping and a little less infighting in general. The dems suffer from their compassions.

          • Joseph Miceli

Yes, but I wish they’d quit it with the friendly fire. Republicans are providing enough.

          • Todd20036

            classy. Sorry, I’m with Blake

Bernie bros will once again stay home and let trump win because the democratic isn’t pure enough

They don’t learn from the past, so they will repeat it

          • Joseph Miceli

Yes…. well, you DO know what they say about people who say the word “classy” … but that aside, riddle me this: ARE there any “Bernie Bros” anymore? I maintain that the continued singling out of this demographic actually keeps them alive. Any sensible person would ignore them and they’d whiter and die….unless Bernie pulls a cult of personality move and tries to fuck up the next election. Then I’d be willing to admit we have a problem. This “rhetoric” does nothing more than keep digging at old wounds. Tell me, were you as hard on the PUMA’s ? It is the exact same thing. Hell, I’d even support you if you were as vehement about that traitorous bitch Jill Stein. But you aren’t . It is all about Bernie all the time.

Is Tony Blair’s call for a second Brexit vote getting anywhere?

      • Dazzer

On Thursday, Nigel Farrage – who was a leader of the Leave campaign – spoke out demanding a second referendum.

So you have this increasingly odd alignment of Brexiteers and Remainers calling for a second referendum – both sides believing they’d win.

At the moment, I’m not sure whether it will happen – but something strange is happening in British politics at the moment.

The country is horrifically divided – more divided than I’ve ever known it – and something ground-breaking is going to have to happen to re-unify the UK again.

The divisions in the UK were caused and led by ‘Little Englanders’ , – basically Eton School snobs who long for the old days of the British Empire.
Ian Duncan Smith, Gove, Boris, John Redwood led a campaign of lies promising 350 million a week to the National Health service.

They now admit that was a lie. The people were deceived.

Now the EU will negotiate harsh terms. If the UK will not adhere to the EU rules of freedom of movement of people and goods and services, then the UK will suffer massive tariffs to access the Single Market of the EU.

Already the UK has had to conceded that they had not even remembered that they had a land border with Northern Ireland, and that if a border was established that would be in breach of the Peace Agreement which brought the IRA/UK war to an end.

Any physical border would start that war again.

And the British had not even remembered or discussed that issue before the Referendum to leave nor even after the referendum.

The UK has approached the EU talks with absolute chaos !

        • Halou

Farage ostensibly wants a second referendum because he wants a more definitive result than 52-48 so as to silence left-wing resistance, but I suspect it is actually because he knows that public opinion will soon take a sharp turn towards favouring European unity. Trump’s America is not compensating Britain for it’s lost economic and diplomatic status like he and the other Brexiteers had hoped, and prospects for the future look worse by the day.

Farage, having learned nothing from Theresa May’s general election performance, is now willing to risk seeing the whole mission fall apart in the hopes that he could “kill it for a generation”.

          • William

            Deport Farage to Siberia.

        • JackFknTwist

Sometimes I am convinced that Brexit cannot happen. The implication for the UK are horrific.

It is a shame that a gang of imperialist Little Englanders have hijacked the issue and are bent on following the Eton school of backward isolationism with their dreams of Britannia Ruling the Waves. The chief wreckers are Gove, Ian Duncan Smith. Boris Johnson and John Redwood. They live on a different planet, they believe in a slogan of “Global Britain” when in reality they are looking at an isolated little island without friends.

But realistically the Brexiteers proceed with this shambles then Scotland will vote independence within 12 months and will apply to join the EU.

Northern Ireland will be an isolated will cul-de-sac and Sinn Fein,Irish Republican Party will push for a United Ireland vote within 5 years.

So the Brexiteers will precipitate the break-up of the UK and an irreversible economic decline.

        • JackFknTwist

I don’t believe the UK can be reunited. The Etonians have divided the UK through lies and bluster, promising a “Global Britain”……that’s insane.
The UK will be totally isolated. Already the eastern European countries want a harsh Brexit as an example to deter others from leaving the EU.
And you can be certain that Scotland is going independent. The polls may not be right for independence at the moment, but wait until the terms of the UK/EU deal are revealed and Scotland will vote en mass.

          • Dazzer

I think the second (actually the third referendum (if you count the one in the ’70s) referendum would prompt the stoic “This is it. We just have to get on with it” of the British make-up.

At least half the country won’t be happy, but – ultimately – we’re a very small, heavily populated country and this state of affairs can’t be allowed to continue.

I agree with you about Scotland. I was very against Scottish independence in the past, but – even though I’m getting my Irish passport – I’d seriously consider moving up to Scotland and voting for independence this time round.

          • JackFknTwist

And I was very in favour of Scottish Independence last time round. I never believed that the English will keep their word on anything.
I think it will happen next time – Scotland has been excluded from all talks about the terms of leaving the EU.

Northern Ireland and the Irish border – the only land border with the EU has been an afterthought.

Northern Ireland voted to stay in the EU.
Scotland voted to stay in the EU.
Both have been ignored by the Westminster gang of Little Enganders,
May had to be brought kicking and screaming to agree the there will be absolute “regulatory alignment ” between Northern Ireland and Ireland whether there is a Deal with the EU or not.

How long is she and the UK going to adhere to that agreement if there is a cliff edge collapse between the EU and the UK ?

May and the Old Etonians [ the Bullingdon Club !] are about to destroy the UK with lack of preparation, lack of foresight and lack of competence in their negotiations with the EU.

The whole EU is seething with the UK insulting the EU for over 20 years with the UK’s constant whining and carping about rebates.

The Prime Minister of Luxembourg stated the point well :
” When the British were in the EU they wanted to negotiate exemptions to get out; now they are out, they want to negotiate terms to get in.”

And there is an other point raised by me:
Northern Irish people are citizens of Ireland and members of the EU; they should have seats in the EU Parliament whatever the rest of the UK decides to do !

          • Dazzer

It’s virtually impossible to explain to non-Brits how such a shower of charlatans, liars, crooks, morons, lackwits and criminals – led by a vacillating run-down robot – are supposed to be negotiating the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.

I’m 100 per cent with the EU in their criticisms of the UK.

‘Shambolic’ doesn’t even come close to describing the inchoate chaos of the Conservatives.

          • JackFknTwist

I totally agree with you. Trying to explain the complexities to Europeans is bad enough, with the Irish land Border and the Good Friday agreement ……..
And the issue is totally not understood in the UK !

Then trying to bring in the issues that the DUP is supporting a minority May government ………

And what about the issue that the nine Sinn Fein MP’s have an abstensionist policy and refuse to take their seats at Westminster since the 1918 election……

And the fact the any physical border imposed on the island of Ireland by outsiders, whether the UK, or the EU , will lead to certain war, ……try explaining these issues …hahaha…..even the most die hard politicos heads will explode !

And of course not a single word of any of this was discussed pre-Referendum…….and still not discussed nor prepared for.

The mind just boggles at the naivete of the UK Etonians. They have the Boris approach of : it will be alright on the night !

You really have no idea at all about British politics, do you?

Corbyn’s biggest rival in the Labour Party – should he ever decide to rejoin Parliament and run for the leadership – is Khan. What’s more, all the polls show that Khan’s politics would utterly defeat the current Conservative government if it came to an election.

People like Khan. They really like him.

Um… “citizen’s arrest”? Is that a thing in the UK? It is in the States, I know, but I’m unaware of it there.

    • Karl Dubhe 2

Not really. Technically, you could hold someone until the police arrive to arrest them. But really, it’s safer to get the cops to do it. And they’re willing.

Well, not to arrest the mayor. Unless they’ve been ordered to by the appropriate prosecutor.

      • JAKvirginia

        Thx. Smart people are gold.

    • Natty Enquirer

Yes, it is, with certain restrictions. Citizen’s arrest derives from common law.

      • JAKvirginia

    • Daveed_WOW

I should think one would have to commit a crime before getting arrested.

            I hear Gomer Pyle.

    • Halou

Yes, UK citizens can legally ‘arrest’ people, though there is a while lot of laws relating to the matter that, if done improperly, can quite easily backfire on the person doing it.
Like, you have to have witnesses, and you have to announce your intentions prior to doing it, and if they don’t take “reasonable measures” to ensure the police arrive in good time then the person making the arrest can be prosecuted.

      • JAKvirginia

        Thx.

      • Steve Smith

And, of course, the person arrested has to have committed a crime. Not just upset a group of far-right crazies who don’t like the skin colour of the person they’re arresting.

Now that all pretense is finished with and the whole world knows what a racist swine Trump is, are the British people going to demean themselves and help legitimate this illegitimate president of ours by granting him a state visit?

If the government does, the people there must revolt.

    Don’t let it happen, Brits.

      • another_steve

My understanding is that British Prime Minister Theresa May hasn’t ruled out a formal state visit by Trump – one where he would meet the Queen and be afforded all the bells and whistles afforded genuine, legitimate heads of state.

That’s what I was referring to in my comment above.

        • Dazzer

          Yeah.

But it’s never going to happen.

The protests against Trump would be too massive.

          • Dazzer

Queer as Folk UK is well worth watching.

            I worked on it.

It was produced by Channel 4 in the UK, a TV channel with a legal duty to provide minority programming.

When it was first broadcast, all the higher-ups in Channel 4 thought it was risky TV aimed at gay men.

What they were utterly shocked by was the main watching demographic was middle aged women and teen girls. They absolutely loved it.

          • medaka

Thank you for having worked on it. It was/is GREAT.

We do a disservice by calling them “Trump Supporters” when really they are garden variety racists. Trump didn’t invent them, just gave validity to their despicable views. They were there already, but were in hiding.

It’s an unacceptible worldview and we can’t allow it to become normal, just an alternate view of reality, an acceptable opinion among many. It isn’t.

The White Pendragons are, to put it as politely as possible, some leftover fucktards from the National Front in the UK, that have adopted a new moniker. They aren’t worth writing about or indeed bothering about.

Pendragon was the surname of King Arthur of Camelot, from mythical stories, ‘the once and future King’, probably based on a number of historical characters but changed beyond reality in legend, just like dragons.

The Fabian society are democratic socialists that focus on a strong message of social inclusion and change by evolution, not revolution, so it is unfortunate but not surprising that their conference attracted this type of protesters especially when they have a muslim mayor as a guest speaker.

These fools at White Pendragon are just the latest in a long line of vitriolic trash-talking nutters. Small but astonishingly vocal.

    • Halou

The UK has always had a small and simmering fascist movement, it has never gained much traction until recently. Trump is just fanning the flames because democracy is anathema to this, and I hate to use this phrase, “new world order”.
