REPORT: Bannon Called Trump An “11 Year-Old Child”

Vanity Fair reports:

In private conversations since leaving the White House, Bannon said Trump only has a 30 percent chance of serving out his term, whether he’s impeached or removed by the Cabinet invoking the 25th amendment.

That prospect seemed to become more likely in early December when special counsel Robert Mueller secured a plea deal from former national security adviser Michael Flynn. Bannon has also remarked on the toll the office has taken on Trump, telling advisers his former boss has “lost a step.” “He’s like an 11-year-old child,” Bannon joked to a friend in November.

While Bannon praised Trump during our conversations—he said he’s the best orator since William Jennings Bryan—he doesn’t deny he was unhappy in the White House. “It was always a job,” he said.

“I realize in hindsight I was just a staffer, and I’m not a good staffer. I had influence, I had a lot of influence, but just influence.” He told me he now feels liberated. “I have power. I can actually drive things in a certain direction.”

I’m pretty sure it’s all fake news.
Here they are the best of friends. There they are enemies. Bannon helped 2Rump get elected. Bannon wants to see him impeached.
I don’t buy any of it.

  • HZ81

Not as mature, Steve. Nowhere near 11, intellectually or otherwise.

And why do you look like a boil with teeth?

And OT: Why does Queerty attract the absolutely most vile queer people in their comment sections? I actually pray they’re right-wing assholes in disguise.

  • Jamie_Johnson

Now, that’s not true. Trump is more like a 7-year-old.

    • That high, huh?

      • ted-

    • clay

No. Let me get (more) pedantic (than usual). Most 7-year-old children are relatively quiet, going through the last struggles of deep attachment to their mothers. This is the age where psychologists got the idea that being gay (or, rather, fey) is a stage most men grow out of. Donny is not quiet, shows no loyalty to his mother, and will never be claimed as, or accused of, being gay.

      • Gustav2

        OK, 7 and 1/2!

        • Boreal

I prefer 8 and 1/2. Oh you’re talking about something else.

  • liondon#iamnotatraitor

How did he know?.. did he get hit on by Roy Moore?

  • clay

Bannon doesn’t know shit about child development. Most 11-year-olds are beginning to show signs of critical thinking and few show anything more than faint interest (or, at least, interaction) with the other sex. Trump shows no signs of critical thinking but compulsive, sexualized interactions with the other sex.

The horrible truth is that Trump is NOT a failed adult, frozen in pre-adolescent behavior, but Trump is a horrible adult with fucked-up values and behaviors.

    • DaveMiller135

I was going to say about 13; smut without empathy.

      • clay

13-year-olds are capable of empathy, they just have to be reminded to practice it. You know, like most upper management.

        • RoFaWh

Judith Martin, in her Miss Manners’ Guide to Rearing Perfect Children, strongly recommends the repeated-nag method of teaching kids proper behavior. (It is a little euphemistic to call that “reminding them.”)

She goes on to describe the day one of your kids is thrust into an unfamiliar social setting and surprises you by behaving beautifully: “It’s a great pleasure to meet you, Great-aunt Matilda.” [The example is mine, not judith Martin’s.)

    • Xaca

Trump is an adult of rapidly and increasingly diminished capacity. When he is removed from office, every Republican senator, congressperson, legislator, cabinet member, justice and judge who enabled him shall be held to account, and should be punished maximally. Asset clawbacks, property confiscations, individual imprisonment, family exile, and capital punishment should all be considered and applied where warranted.

OT. Not sure if this was already posted.

    • Gustav2

I wish they would all stop using the word “jihad”

They have no idea of the multiple meanings of the word.

      • Gustav2

Jihad (English: /dʒɪˈhɑːd/; Arabic: جهاد‎ jihād [dʒɪˈhaːd]) is an Arabic word which literally means striving or struggling, especially with a praiseworthy aim.[1][2][3][4] It can have many shades of meaning in an Islamic context, such as struggle against one’s evil inclinations, an exertion to convert unbelievers, or efforts toward the moral betterment of society,[1][2][5] though it is most frequently associated with war.[6] In classical Islamic law, the term refers to armed struggle against unbelievers,[2][3] while modernist Islamic scholars generally equate military jihad with defensive warfare.[7][8] In Sufi and pious circles, spiritual and moral jihad has been traditionally emphasized under the name of greater jihad.[9][3] The term has gained additional attention in recent decades through its use by terrorist groups.

        • RationalismRules

Back in the 90’s I knew a boy named Jihad. No-one thought twice about it. Unimaginable now.

      • Jamie_Johnson

Perhaps “crusade” would be a more accurate term.

        • Gustav2

          A more culturally accurate term.

  • Tomcat

Trump best orator, surely you fucking jest there Bannon.

    • Dramphooey

It’s patently absurd. A slick salesman might command the attention of the dull or even the smart if they aren’t paying close attention but that doesn’t make him a good orator.

That’s pretty insulting to William Jennings Bryan. Bryan was a populist but he was certainly a good speaker.

      • Dramphooey

“The humblest citizen of all the land, when clad in the armor of a righteous cause, is stronger than all the hosts of error.” – Bryan

“Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart—you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you’re a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.” – Trump

    “No doubt,” Sessions replied.

    “You’re sure?” Bannon continued.

  • Cuberly Deux

I’ve subjected myself to two of his “films”. The duck dynasty one, Torchbearer and the Sarah Palin one, Undefeated. Don’t laugh. It was illuminating. You can find reviews and perspectives about them on youtube.

My take away after watching them and looking at Bannon’s boosterism for Trump is Bannon is utterly desperate for a puppet he can prop up. Of course the problem is his chosen subjects fail. Spectacularly so. He’s a white nationalist hell bent on convincing “conservative” whites they’re losing something, as he pushes them to vote against their best interests.

When he’s done with his subjects he just discards them and moves on to the next one, preferrably one that generates as much chaos as possible. I have zero doubt he’ll throw Trump under the bus, then move onto his next bigot protege.

Of course he’s going to continue to heap praise on Trump, for now, he’s still of some use to him.

    • clay

So, there must be some reason he hasn’t just seized the reins, himself …

      • Cuberly Deux

Insecurity? He strikes me a VERY insecure, to the point of paranoia.

Yeah I have no clue why he hasn’t gone into politics. But then his 3 very messy divorces could have something to do with it. That and the fact he’s a catholic drunk.

      • Cuberly Deux

Ha! In the article they mention that he thought of running for prez back in Oct. Apparently he brought in a consultant. Guess it went nowhere, through a spokesperson he claimed he has no desire to run.

  • JCF

Seems about 8 years too generous.

Is that perhaps a misspelling of what should properly be spelled “biggly”, an adjectival form of the verb “biggle”?

I shall biggle you in the morning,

I dont give a shit what anyone wants me to believe. I despise Trump to the core of my being, but I am also someone that often mangles words (I joke that english is a second language even though its the only one I know) and I’m also slightly hard of hearing often requiring people to repeat things, and the first few times I heard him say “bigly” I just automatically assumed he was saying “big league”.
