Obama Congratulates Winners In Democratic Wave

The Associated Press reports:

Former President Barack Obama is congratulating the two Democrats who won gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey. In a Wednesday morning tweet, Obama said: “This is what happens when the people vote.”

Democrat Ralph Northam beat Republican Ed Gillespie in the race for Virginia governor. In New Jersey, Democrat Phil Murphy trounced Republican Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, who served under the term-limited, deeply unpopular GOP Gov. Chris Christie.

Don’t worry, that’s cursive script. Trumpets read musical notation.

Funny, the “voting doesn’t matter” posters seem oddly quiet today.

  • Dutchlander

He spelled mayors’ correctly with an apostrophe.
    Trump can’t even manage heel.

    • Tulle Christensen

Obama was editor of the Harvard Law Review, would you expect any less

      • Dutchlander

Sure, but Trump went to an ivy league school and had the bestest education, allowed him to use the bestest words and gave him the greatestest memory. A lot of people are saying that. Bigly.

    • KnownDonorDad

Trump misuses the apostrophe in “Liddle’.”

  • Karl Dubhe

Much much better selection of stories today.

I hope that continues as the day goes on.

    #Police Wagon Wednesday!!!!

Well, the toddler-in-chief is out of the country on a self-promotion tour of his golf courses so my expectation is that any news out of the U.S. can’t be as bad .

One year ago, 63 million voters thought it was a good idea to put this into the White House.

  • skyweaver

Thank you, Mr. President, for all you have done. For planting the seeds years ago that we are our own destiny. We decide what happens, not a terrible awful person in the White House. We are always in charge

    • Ross

      We are always in charge

      No, sometimes Russia is.

    • Claude Jacques Bonhomme

Don’t hold your breath for AL. And don’t pledge not to touch another martini if Moore is elected. I hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

I love seeing the bitter, petulant tears of re pugs, and also watching them leave DC like rats on a proverbial sinking ship.

    • Craig Howell

Unfortunately, I have failed to detect any of them running past my window so far today.

The master of the subtle knife twist. Both “ha, ha, racist POTUS…can’t get rid of me THAT easily!” and “You know, fools, you actually need to VOTE!”

    • David Walker

      “Don’t boo…vote!”

  • joe ho

It’s too bad that in third-term presidential elections Dem voters can’t behave like they did yesterday in Virginia.

After the primaries, however bitter, get over your hurt feelings and vote blue no matter who.

    • justme

and vote the whole blue ticket…
The top may not be all that you want, but, the whole ticket will work to your favor..

Let the GLOATING begin! It’s now a year since Hillary won (by millions) the most votes! Is it too soon to gloat that I voted for Hillary?

No! Not after this year of daily inhumane hurlings from His*Selected*Inhumaneness who was hugely *rejected* by 70+% of American voters. Some bigly trumping mandate that wasn’t!

If he had any empathy, he would know what a majority of Americans, and of humans across the world, have experienced a year ago today. But he doesn’t have any empathy, so it’s just enjoyable to see him like this.

    • ohbear1957

That brings up fond memories of this companion piece from Obama’s re-election in 2012. Karl Rove in such denial that they sent Megyn Kelly to the bowels of the Earth for “a little interrogation” of the results..
