White House Communications Director: I’m Deleting My Liberal Tweets That Disagree With Trump’s Agenda

Newly hired White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci this afternoon announced that he’s deleting all his old tweets that disagree with Trump’s agenda.

Much to the pain of the haters, yesterday liberal Twitter took joy in sharing Scaramucci’s apparently now-discarded progressive positions on climate change, immigration, abortion, and same-sex marriage.

And if there was any doubt that Scaramucci has sold his soul to the far-right, his first post-hiring interview today was with Breitbart.

Politico reports:

Scaramucci on Saturday praised conservative news site Breitbart News and its political editor Matt Boyle during his first interview since being tapped to join the Trump administration. “One of the things Breitbart has done is you’ve captured the spirit of what’s actually going on in the country,” Scaramucci told Boyle during an interview on “Breitbart News Saturday” on SiriusXM.

Scaramucci further joked with Boyle that he was surprised the editor had not sent in his resume for West Wing consideration yet. Scaramucci said he is aiming to get Trump’s unfiltered message through to his supporters via the president’s Twitter feed, bypassing mainstream outlets that Trump often calls “fake news” while hoping to de-escalate what Scaramucci sees as unfairness and bias in the media.

Just yesterday Breitbart‘s Boyle declared that the primary goal of his site is the “complete destruction and elimination of the mainstream media.” And now, in Scaramucci, Breitbart has another ally in that cause.

I’ve screencapped a few of Scaramucci’s most notable old tweets. Some have already been deleted.
