Dr. Phil????

  • Jonathan Smith
    • bkmn

He is such an idiot. Oprah owes the world an apology for him and Dr. Oz.

      • Ninja0980

Yup, one of the only bad things Oprah has done.

      • another_steve

Thank you. I’ve never quite understood why Oprah is considered by many to be the Second Coming of Jesus.

She and the other TV talk hosts have helped cheapen daytime television and turn it into the dreck it is today.

        • PickyPecker

yeah, before them it was ALL high kwality.

          • The_Wretched

There never was a pretense that the daily dramas were social goods, however.

          • another_steve

You diss “The Secret Storm” you diss my dead mama. Mama loved that soap.

            Take it back.

        • Dazzer

I’ve met her a couple of times over the years. She’s a pleasant and intelligent woman. She’s polite, too – she opens doors for people when they’re carrying cups of tea and helps people with their luggage.

Also, her European production company was far and away the most efficient and easy to deal with.

I can’t disagree with much of the rest that you said, but as a person she’s one of the better celebs I’ve ever had to deal with.

          • Derrick Johns

            Informative comment, Dazzer.

          • janey

She’s also a great actress. Have seen her in a couple of movies and was blown away. Still Dr. Phil is a nut if you ask me.

        • Chris Baker

I don’t know. I was under the impression that after her ratings went up, she started to refuse to do all the cheap stuff like “who is my baby’s daddy?”, “my husband is cheating on me with my sister” kind of stuff that was being done by the others.

          Maybe I am wrong.

        • metrored

Without her we might still have more of those classy talkshows that featured such high brow content as audience fights and paternity tests.

          • another_steve

I credit Ellen with “cleaning up” the image of daytime talk TV. She deserves a lot of credit for that.

Oprah’s good, but I think she substantively contributed to the cheapening of the genre.

          • metrored

Her show doesn’t have Oprah’s self-improvement component but it also doesn’t have Oprah’s probing interviews (like Elie Wiesel at Auschwitz). While Oprah never featured nearly as much male nudity for the sake of male nudity (that’s not a complaint), Ellen’s practice of inviting deserving guests on so the audience can see them showered with gifts is possibly the most Oprah thing ever.

          • another_steve

Yeah, the “gift thing.” lol. Cringe-worthy.

The afternoon female-hosted shows have a specific viewer demographic: unemployed women, many of them stay-at-home moms (certainly a job in and of itself) and older or disabled women. Ellen’s studio audience is mostly female, reflecting her at-home audience.

I’m sure the producers conduct weekly or monthly focus groups and give the TV audience what those groups say they want.

          • metrored

Both shows cater to the same demographic but one show had a regular book club and the other has a “gardener” who’s only job is to rip his shirt off. I like Ellen too but the idea that her show is somehow cleaner or less cheap than Oprah’s rings false to me.

          • another_steve

That said, we have to acknowledge that Ellen – perhaps more than any other TV personality – has made tremendous strides in making “lesbian” a less threatening thing for Americans and for those in others nations where her show is broadcast.

Many many more people, I think, get their cultural signals from celebrities than they do from politicians and priests.

        • Sporkfighter

Right you are. I grew up watching reruns of Gilligan’s Island. The professor demonstrated more real science than Drs. Oz and Phil ever knew.

    • VodkaAndPolitics

Dr. Phil… the man who gave us “Cash Me Outside” girl.

      • james1200

She’s dating a rapper and feuding with actual celebrities and the fucking tabloids are treating HER like a celebrity and the little idiot is only 13 (at least the Hot Felon is of age and hot). I want to leave this planet of ours, today!

        • Ragnar Lothbrok

          No, wait !

    • another_steve

How has that fuckhead not been medically disbarred?

      • RemusL

“medically disbarred”? Ok, I see what you did there.

    • glass

It’s the jerry springer show with a mustache. This guy does nothing but whine at people and tell them off. He has the worst white trash on his show. This show is as useless as a pig trying to learn ballet.

      • BobSF_94117

Jerry Springer never took himself seriously.

    • JDS

For my Psychologists have never had any credibility.

    • Jwmvh

      I can’t stand him. Yuck!

  • Skokieguy [Larry]

I’m surprised, I thought that Seacrest produced a ton of shows and is on several at once.

And “Dr.” Phil? Gag. My Oprah love is lessened because she is largely responsible for infesting American culture with him.

  • Hanwi

    Dr. Phil????

    I’m more like Kim Kardasian?!?!?

  • Lazycrockett

I have nothing against Ellen but I find her show annoying as hell.

  • bkmn

Much like CEO’s, celebrities make too much money.

    • Ken M

Nothing from CBN. Someone needs to spend more time on their knees.

  • FAEN

Seriously? Phil gets paid that much? W T F E!

  • Hanwi

O/T: I need the help of fellow reefers.

I just set up a 300g to replace a 93g some fish had outgrown. I’m struggling with lighting, currently I have some old VHO’s (junk, came with aquarium), a metal halide (left over) and a LED fixture (hydra 52, was on 93). I’d like to go LED but I’m not convinced, the Hydra doesn’t give me very good coloration on certain corals.

What do y’all run? Any suggestions? I’m thinking perhaps LED/T5 combo fixtures.

  • james1200

Seinfeld? He hasn’t worked in like 20 years, right? Damn, I must be putting a hell of a lot of money in his pocket everytime I watch a rerun.

    • Lazycrockett

Seinfeld got sold to Bannon, yes that Bannon.

      • james1200

It’s the other way around, I think. Bannon used to own a piece of the show but the producers said he no longer has a stake in it.

        • John30013

I believe he still gets residuals on the first couple of seasons he helped to produce. In any case, a significant chunk of his wealth comes from his early involvement with the Seinfeld Show.

      • John30013

I don’t think that’s quite right. I believe Bannon was one of the original producers of the Seinfeld Show early in its run before anyone knew it would turn into a mega hit.

  • Ken M

God bless Judge Judy. You go girl ! : )

  • Leo

No one on this list surprises me, just some disappoint.

I don’t have the energy to hate on Kim.

Both Dr. Phil and Steve Harvey are bigoted, bloated snake oil salesmen. That’s it.

  • Blake J Butler
    • safari

I was listening to NPR this noon. Apparently a healthcare advocate had to explain to our representatives that cutting Medicaid would harm children. They kept insisting they weren’t dealing with CHIP — but the advocate had to explain that CHIP covers 6M children and medicaid 30M children. Our reps have no idea what they are voting on.

      • John30013

In the immortally stupid words of their Dear Leader, “who knew healthcare could be so complicated?”

They are all idiots, led by an idiot, and supported by idiots.

  • Blake J Butler
    • Ken M

“How many times do I have to tell you…I WON, I CAN’T BE TO BLAME! !”

      • Blake J Butler

Except the blame falls directly on him now and the people he encourages to pass the shit he tries to legislate.

    • Ninja0980

Seriously, that would be cruel to the great white.

      • Todd20036

I wouldn’t call it cruel to the not-so-great orange, though

    • Derrick Johns

      We keepa’ tryin’. LOL

    • bzrd

is there one from the open door of AF1

  • another_steve

If I turn lesbian, will she take me in?

  • Leo
    • Ken M

      Is lunch over?

    • The_Wretched

He tosses off threats to employment like it’s vocal fill. Petty thug.

    • PickyPecker

He still believes he is on a reality game show.

    • Ernest Endevor

God, he’s so charming! And so much fun! Why won’t the Fake News tell the American people how much fun he is?

  • JWC

A free lunch on the American public with nothing achieved

  • another_steve

I like Ryan Seacrest. I think he’s adorable. I want to kiss him on the lips.

    (I’ve lost friends admitting that.)

    • Joe in PA

But not as many as admitting you like Jared.

      • another_steve

The inability to appreciate the…umm…attributes of a young thin-waisted cute Jewish billionaire is NOT my problem, thank you.

    • PickyPecker

Always with the aging twinks. sheesh.

      • another_steve

        Well, they’re legal.

        There is that.

        • Rex

And this one’s rich, so there is THAT.

          • another_steve

Thank you. $58 million a year.

Do you know how many boxes of Mallomars I could buy with him as my lover?

      • Joe in PA

    • Blake J Butler

I have a soft spot for a blonde muscle guy that does webcam videos of him stripping, jerking off, does dirty talk, fucks himself with a dildo, astonishingly straight but is a trump supporter and a straight laced conservative suit and tie fucker. ironically for an audience that is male, most definitely gay.

I don’t know why but him being in pain from dildoing himself and humiliating hismelf with a “bondage” webcam session he filmed really made me feel better deep in side.

To be fair its just porn, for enjoyment and harmless pleasure, unless the guy is a pedophile or a murderer i will still watch his videos.

      • another_steve

Your comment gave me an erection.

        • Blake J Butler

          haha! 🙂

I could provide a link so you could see who i’m talking about, and watch him on your own time.

          • another_steve

Thanks, but there’s so much out there and so little time.

Lovers of twinks (all legal age, of course), Google Image “bel ami boys” and get a paper towel.

            (Not at your workplace, please.)

          • Blake J Butler

I’m at home, i ask because it is a workday and some people may not want that showing up in their comment feeds.

          • another_steve

I assume the Nigerian hackers have dossiers on each and every commenter on this blog. They most likely also have our IP addresses.

            Go ahead, blackmail me.

Ain’t one person on this fuckin’ planet that doesn’t already know what a moral degenerate I am.

          • HomerTh

            Get a room boys!

          • Jonathan Smith

            oh hell, i need a link. 🙂

          • Blake J Butler

Here you, go. But warning, this NOT work friendly and should only be watched on your own time.

This is one I found online of his and can pull up more from the site I use, he also has an upload account on Flirt4free.

          • Jonathan Smith
          • BobSF_94117

Hey, that’s not Ryan Seacrest! And I watched all the way to the end, just in case he morphed part way through or something…

          • Blake J Butler

I never said it was Ryan seacrest. Steve was talking about Ryan seacrest and getting treatment from guys that he liked him. Then I brought up the porn guy that I sometimes watch.

          • JDS

            Yes please on the link.

  • Stephen Elliot Phillips

Kim Kardashian makes 45 million a year selling what?
    This country is fucked.

  • Ken M

    Are Soap Operas finally gone?

    • Ragnar Lothbrok

There is one that comes on after the news at noon.

      OMG- It’s stoooooppid !

  • Harveyrabbit

I’d pay to see a Dr Phil vs Judge Judy cage fight. With Jerry Springer as the guest referee. She’d kick his fat lumpy ass. And make him cry.

  • unsavedheathen

Ellen should buy a whole state like that Dollar General asshole in NC. A small one like Iowa.

    • Ragnar Lothbrok

      That’d be awesome!

  • The_Wretched

I don’t begrudge Ellen some wealth but most of that list…??? really ???

Our system of government is broken if harmful or largely irrelevant people make multiple tens of millions of dollars.

  • Adam Stevens

Happy for her, I guess, cuz she’s one of us.

But she is a terrible, mean human being.

Ask anyone who has ever worked for her.

I know one of her past personal chefs. We’ve talked. A lot.

Ellen is not who she presents herself to the world to be. At all.

    • Natty Enquirer

Yes, some celebrities are assholes in person and some are sweethearts, just like the rest of the world. At least Ellen’s public persona is harmless, unlike many others on the list.

    • gaymex1

Was the chef you know fired by Ellen? How was she mean?

    • Ragnar Lothbrok

      She took my cat.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada

    Like Joe stated, “Dr. Phil???”

That’s just so wrong, on so many levels. Still, good for Ellen, she at least brings smiles while Dr. Phil induces piles.

  • Mark Née Fuzz

At least half the people on this list make me wanna hurl.

  • TuuxKabin
  • justmeeeee

    Please just call him Phil.

  • SDG

    I don’t know… after a million or two… the rest seems just… excessive, no?
