Hair Furor Whines Yet Again About The Media

The Hill reports:

President Trump took aim at the media early Friday morning, accusing journalists and news outlets of belittling and disparaging his early accomplishments in the White House.

Trump is set to hit the critical 100-day mark in his presidency on April 29, a week from Saturday. Those early days are typically considered the first standard checkpoint for a presidential administration and its ability to govern.

With little legislative achievement to speak of, Trump has focused on executive actions to roll back Obama-era regulations and climate policy. The biggest success of Trump’s young presidency, alluded to in his tweet, has been the nomination and confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, whom Trump picked to replace the late Antonin Scalia.

  • Dramphooey

He got Ted Nugent and Kid Rock to disrespect the White House with their lame hats. Isn’t that an accomplishment?

    • romanhans

Is that what that was? I thought I was watching an episode of The Dukes of Hazzard Visit Washington.

      • GeneInSJ

I was thinking that it was like watching the Beverly Hillbillies, except they were fun.

    • Ninja0980

To his supporters, yes it is.

    • Gerry Fisher

      Make America Grate Again

  • Wynter Marie Starr

His accomplishment of playing golf instead of governing should be mentioned each and every day.

    • David Walker

Along with his ability not to release his tax returns and his ability to lie even more compulsively than a guilty 2nd grader.

      • Wynter Marie Starr

Don’t kid yourself, I’d trust a lying 2nd grader and many of them will tell the truth if asked directly. This ass doesn’t even know the meaning of the word, David.

    • Nowhereman

And also how much he’s costing us, and how much he and his family are making off of us. Every time he goes to his own properties to do official business, he charges us to put himself up, plus his family, and guests–all expenses that would and should be covered by our official venues in Washington. After 8 years of hearing republicans whine about the Obamas, it’s only fair to point out how much more expensive this family is.

      • Wynter Marie Starr

Yes, there should be a running tally about how much he and his spawn cost us and how much he is making off the highest seat in the land. I’d like to see both those figures every damn day, front page news.

  • Michael R

We know all his tricks now , yawn .

    • Frostbite

How dare you call Melenia that! She stuck around for the money true love!

      • Tawreos

She isn’t dumb enough to stick closely though, is she?

        • Todd20036

But she’s greedy enough to cost America hundreds of millions of dollars in security.
          Stupid illegal immigrants.

          • ColdCountry

I can see her wanting to keep her son in the same school until the end of the year. If she doesn’t move into the WH when school is over, I’ll rethink my opinion. Thing is, I’m not sure any of us would resent her being in NY so much if Donny wasn’t blowing so much more of our tax money on HIS flitting about. If he cut his expenses to help make up for her extra ones, that would be different, but he’s acting like there is an endless supply of money, and it’s all his.

  • Cuberly

    “…the rediculous standard…”

    “Only I can fix it…”

  • Mark

    “considered the first standard checkpoint”

should have been a mental eval included….

    • Frostbite

should have that as a qualification to even run!

  • barrixines

I never know whether to expend my daily reserve of Drumpf Harumphery on the first story of the day on JMG or keep my power dry knowing full well Fuckface von Clownstick is likely to had said/done something far more fuckwittedly egregious by midnight. These things must be done delicately.

    • shrumpi

“Drumpf Harumphery” – you are a true poet! This is amazing…

      • barrixines

😉 Give me a sec and I am sure we can work ‘shrumpi’ in there, too.

    • Duh-David

It’s Friday. It gets really good when the Jews leave his side.

  • lymis

Maybe you should stop golfing and start accomplishing things if you want the media to say you did.

    • canoebum

Yeah, but that might take, like, real work. Not part of his routine.

  • Joe in PA

So he’s whining about the ‘ridiculous’ standard of the first 100 days, but HE’S the one who throughout his campaign said over and over: on day one I’m going to….

    Sigh.

  • Mark

“Learned how to tweet from the fake gold throne” should be #1 on the list.

  • Sissy Spacedout

If god were to bless America, Trump’s funeral would have been held 10 years ago.

  • bambinoitaliano

He counted his whining tweet as accomplishment. He watched CNN and Faux Nus and regurgitate the same info on press conference as job well done. Not to mention weekly retreat to Mar-a- Largo. Such tough challenges. Just today he inhale and exhale on his own. Most accomplished president ever! Eye-rolled!

    • TheThruster

He really is a complete fail on every front. I’m amazed this moron is your “leader” still. GHimTFO, already, please!

      • McSwagg

He “coulda been” an even BIGLIER FAILURE if he didn’t spend so much time on his Weekly Golf Vacation!!!!

        • TheThruster

          Yeah, I guess there’s a silver lining to everything…

  • Superman

Its true, his golf game has improved.

    • McSwagg

Hee-Haw was silly, harmless and corny.

This is the new cast of History Channel’s “Swamp People.”

    • Nowhereman

At least Hee Haw was good clean fun. I would not want to stand down wind of the bunch in that photo.

  • Boreal
    • Joe in PA

Did you see that story about the cast of Joe in the Morning…congratulating Sarah Palin for using ‘complete sentences’ in her interview with CNN?

      #hahahaha

      • Buford

        ‘Joe in the Morning’…?

        • Joe in PA

Oops, sorry, “Morning Joe”. I couldn’t remember the show’s name. Too early. 🙂 MSNBC with Joe Scarborough. (sp?)

          • Buford

The show is no better with coffee than it is without coffee… 😉

      • ColdCountry

The bar is now set underground.

      Bigly.

What an illegitimate scammer can do, a legitimately democratically-elected leader can undo. Gorsuch is a temporary seat-filler on the Court. When democracy is restored, off he comes! Along with Roberts, Alito, and Thomas–all complicit in GOP scandals.

  • Ninja0980

You are the one who made all these promises you can’t keep.
Don’t mad solely because people are calling you out.

  • Buford

I’ll state the obvious… rolling back the legislation of others is not the same implementing your own legislation. If Twitler wants to whine about not receiving his due, maybe he should remind us about his accomplishments thus far.

    • The_Wretched

too confusing. The media all but has cheetodust smeared on their faces.

  • TexasBoy

Hey Donald, if you jump off the Brooklyn Bridge, I’ll make sure the media covers it adequately, and even say it was the most stupendous, bigliest, jumpiest jump ever.

Yeah, but the river will need be declared a SuperFund site.

    • ColdCountry

You forgot golfing every weekend! That’s an accomplishment when you have so many more important things to do….

      • David Walker

…while slamming his predecessor for the occasional round of golf.

  • ErikDC

The first 100 days is the standard because FDR essentially saved capitalism and the government of the United States in his first 100 days in office. It’s the standard by which every subsequent president has been measured.

So, ridiculous? What’s ridiculous here is that we have a president who is so woefully ignorant of history. No wonder he can’t get anything done.

  • RJ Bone

In the days of everything being recorded, and the ease of pulling up the ACTUAL WORDS of someone right at one’s fingertips, you would think people would be more careful with what they claim they didn’t say.

This just shows us that these twerps aren’t just your garden variety dumb, but have crossed into the realm of colossally moronic.

  • Michael R
    • Todd20036

Sweet, but could also use the photo where she is naked and embracing another woman

    • Bj Lincoln

Who is the guy on the left with the hat that is 2 sizes too big?

      • Sissy Spacedout

I’ve been told he’s a rock star. I never remember his name though.

      • Mike in NC

That’s Kid Rock, a no-talent has-been who found his niche as a right-wing asshat (also see; Dennis Miller, Stephen Baldwin).

      • jmax

Don’t know his real name, but he goes by Kid Rock. Quite the misnomer since he is not and does not.

      • Bj Lincoln

He is no kid and can’t dress himself.

      • Duh-David

Rapper from Michigan used to be known as M&Ms, now he wants to be a country rocker who dates porn actresses. Also wants cheap fedoras and Republicans to come back in style.

        I think.

Had one good song, but that was because of Sheryl Crow.

        • The_Wretched

I assume you’re being funny by conflating Kidrock with MM?

          • Duh-David

Their early careers are surprisingly similar. I could say something about “one road out of Michigan.”

    • Halou

That should be added to the 2020 Democratic platform as a core policy “Hang on the wall a nude Melania”, something to remind all future presidents of the eternal shame that has been Donald Trump.

    • The_Wretched

She did too many crunches and not enough leg raises.

    • Nowhereman

It looks like they’re all flashing gang signs. Remember the old days when Michelle Obama was trashed for wearing a sleeveless dress? Now we know what our current FLOTUS’ fake breasts look like.

  • Skeptical_Inquirer

Someone should tell him that every time he whines, he makes Obama look better and better.

    • billbear1961

The MAN–the REAL president–this hateful, orange IMBECILE and DISGRACE is insanely JEALOUS of!!

  • JW Swift

If you think the 100-day standard is so “ridiculous” then why did you keep referring, over and over again, in your campaign speeches, how much you would get done during those first 100 days?

    • tomfromthenews

Or on “day one” (like repealing and replacing the ACA)?

      • billbear1961

“Everyone will be covered, AND it will cost LESS than the ACA!”

And now they’re determined to strip MILLIONS of their insurance and to let THOUSANDS die EVERY year without adequate care!

He’s a LIAR, demented, LOATHSOME head of a party of would-be mass MURDERERS!!

      • McSwagg

I think he meant “one day” as in we’ll eventually get around to it if we don’t change our minds or forget.

  • MBear

welcome to being precedent, you buffoon

  • Halou

The installation of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court is hardly an achievement. It was only done by Mitch McConnell dismantling the rules that required cooperation across the aisle in the Senate, so that when the Democrats finally regain control they will run forward with whatever agenda they want and there is nothing the Republicans can do about it.

    • Shy Guy

Didn’t the Democrats promise to reinstate the filibuster if they ever get back control?

      https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2017/04/10/sen-ed-markey-democrats-restore-filibuster-scotus-nominees/100299012/

Basically a lose-lose. Just a 50% majority for Republican candidates when they’re in power, but 60% for Democrats.

      • billbear1961

They’ll reinstate the filibuster after the act of SEDITION by the GOP Senate majority during most of Obama’s last year in office and the ramming through of THIEF Gorsuch using the nuclear option if the useless FUCKS want to be torn LIMB from fucking LIMB by the Democratic base, chéri.

      • Halou

I’d hope they do restore the filibuster, since it was made as a check on the actions of a slim but tyrannical majority. However, this should only be done once the Dems have nailed down everything they want down after 2018, or 2020.

See if the GOP learns anything about how detrimental an uncooperative government can be to democracy. One of two of them might even come to their senses.

        • Shy Guy

If they do change it back, they should also change it so that it requires a three-fifths majority to change the rules as well.

  • Bj Lincoln

He has been busy ( playing golf and wasting taxpayer money). He just hasn’t gotten much done.

  • FAEN

But you haven’t accomplished a thing Cheeto!

This is why there must be a law regarding medical records. Cheeto is mentally ill. Very mentally ill. LOTS of people have said so. And that isn’t snark. That’s the hard truth. This country is being run by a mad man.

    • Halou

Laws that need to be written:

      1. The submitting of tax returns a requirement before a person can be listed on the ballots, no longer just a ‘tradition’ but a rule.
      2. Security checks on the candidates and all their campaign staff carried out throughout the primaries, rather than after election day.
      3. Regular scheduled as well as impromptu medical assessments (physical and mental health) throughout the president’s 4 year term, with transitions imposed on those that fail to pass.

      Any others?

      • The_Wretched

regarding #2 – the parlimentary systems is Euro solve the vetting of cabinete positions by having them more or less party assigned and currently seated office holders flip right in. Who would get what job is pretty much established before the elections happen.

    • Chucktech

As I’ve said before, I don’t beleive Trump is mentally ill, I believe he is mentally defective. Malignant narcissism is a mental defect, not a mental illness.

      • Ross

        Agreed.

  • Acronym Jim

    Wow, I am shocked!

Trump actually spelled “a lot” correctly as two words.

    • ColdCountry

*snort* The armada wasn’t lost, they knew exactly where they were. Donny, however, was, as usual, not paying attention to the right sources. Kinda makes you wonder exactly where he intended those missiles and bomb to land.

Err, no, Trump, you’ve accomplished *nothing* even remotely *benign,* actually, and even most of your mean shit failed, or is just what you let Congress do to us anyway, while you wasted our money on yourself and your rich family freeloading for billions while you go golfing and pocket more and more public money.

  • grada3784

Just what has he accomplished, considering his party holds both houses of Congress.

    • McSwagg

      Internet privacy has been gutted.

  • Megrim Twist

Get fucked you boring, old, lying, racist, ineffectual toilet tweeter.

  • -M-

So Donnie, sad and pathetic, is still lying about everything to paint himself as a winner. The Heritage Foundation or whoever picked Gorsuch, and McConnell had to change the rules of the Senate in order to ram the anti-liberty, conswervative hack’s confirmation through.

  • MikeBx2

How is the Supreme Court his accomplishment? What leadership did he show to get Gorsuch confirmed? Both Houses are GOP controlled. They went nuclear. Trump did nothing.

  • Hair Furur is doing such a bang up job keeping ‘Murikan jobs, Boeing is sending out involuntary layoff notices to employees today.

The Everett Herald (http://www.heraldnet.com) has a poll today whether the huge tax breaks Boeing has received should be tied to keeping employees employed in state. Can I prevail upon JMG readers to push it to YES?

  • For a second I was wondering what he did to South Carolina except removing Nikki Haley. Oh yeah, SCOTUS. 😡

  • Nowhereman

I guess it depends on what your definition of “accomplishment” is. By my dictionary, he hasn’t accomplished a damn thing. He HAS however made a mess of our country and our standing in the world.

  • Christopher

Maybe it’s just me, but everytime I see the words “President Trump”, I read it in my mind as Pretendent Cheetolini.

      It is not an affliction.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada
  • Snarky

Trump himself said the 100-day mark is an important one (pdf from his site here: https://assets.donaldjtrump.com/_landings/contract/O-TRU-102316-Contractv02.pdf). A shame that the signature legislation he promised (health care reform, labeling China as a currency manipulator, Muslim travel ban, etc.) has fallen apart through his little hands.

But knowing how he is obsessed with ratings, crowd sizes, etc., he will be fretting over this for the next week. Prepare for more missile strikes.

  • Nic Peterson

so much with the whining! he should stop it with the gabbing of the kitties and just grab a great big handful ( as big as he can, we understand there are limitations ) of his ugly self.

  • Lane

Oh — I was wondering what he meant by “S.C.” here. I thought maybe he’d finally solved the South Carolina problem, but thought he really meant he was finally getting a handle on the situation in South Corea.

  • Gianni

What exactly has he ‘accomplished’ so far? He’s been very busy talking all the time; making war-like threats; signing whatever has been put in front of him; the whining is continuing; his staff and appointees say one thing and he says another and no one can figure out who the hell to believe; his first major piece of legislation that he promised would be done in an afternoon on Day 1, failed to even get a vote; then he dropped the Repeal and Replace the ACA thing and decided to shoot for tax reform, but that has now changed and wants Repeal and Replace again to be first; and on and on. I just don’t see any accomplishments; he just looks like a dog chasing his tail. It’s a lot of effort, but doesn’t get anything done.

  • JCF
