Rick Perry Replaces Bannon On Security Council

The New York Daily News reports:

After a turn tangoing on reality TV, Rick Perry has danced himself into the heights of power. The longtime Texas governor survived a dip in his political star after the implosion of his 2012 presidential campaign and has now been named to the National Security Council Principals Committee months after appearing on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Perry was confirmed earlier this year as Secretary of Energy, and now heads the same department he could not remember he wanted to eliminate during his infamous “oops” moment at a 2011 debate.

There is nothing unusual about the Secretary of Energy, whose portfolio includes issues such as nuclear security, serving on the National Security Council Principals Committee. His promotion came as chief White House strategist and former Steve Bannon, an unorthodox choice was removed from the policy-making group.
