President Crybaby Throws His Daily Tantrum

The Hill reports:

President Trump on Wednesday attacked New York Times, saying the newspaper’s coverage has gotten worse since the election. “Remember when the failing @nytimes apologized to its subscribers, right after the election, because their coverage was so wrong,” the president tweeted. “Now worse!” “If the people of our great country could only see how viciously and inaccurately my administration is covered by certain media!” he added.

Trump’s Wednesday morning tweet came as the Times published a front-page story citing unnamed sources that described anger and sniping among top White House figures. Following the election, the publisher and executive editor of The New York Times published a letter to its readers saying the paper aims “to rededicate ourselves to the fundamental mission of Times journalism.”

Trump has in the past claimed that the letter was actually an apology for bad coverage, tweeting the day it was sent: “The @nytimes sent a letter to their subscribers apologizing for their BAD coverage of me. I wonder if it will change – doubt it?”

Factoring the partials it’s probably more like 16+33+(.9*20)+(.5*14)+(.1*13) = 75.3%

Very roughly extrapolated that means 3 out of every 4 words he speaks is involved in a lie.

Part of this idiot’s issue is that others are saying lies and he just repeats them as if they are facts. He hears others in his camp saying crap and he just assumes that they always speak the truth.

It suits SCROTUS’ character. It’s a lie pyramid scheme where he’s at the top.

The NYT’s Jeremy Peters was just on Moaning Joe saying the Democrat Senators are wasting their time not passing Gorsuch to the Supreme Court and if they don’t get that 60 threshold and it goes by the wayside then Trump is going to choose much worse for the next 2-3 seats (and it will happen) and it will be the worst case scenario for the Senate Dems: a moderate Kennedy this year replaced by William Pryor, for example, by a simple majority vote. Trump should be praising their coverage.

    • Ninja0980

Will someone ask these guys what will stop them from doing the nuclear option next time if they can flip the courts like that?

The number of judges has fluctuated over the last two centuries, hasn’t it?

There’s an old article in the Graundian that calls for a court of 19 Judges.

      • billbear1961

There is nothing in the Constitution, Ms. Spacedout, that declares how many judges MUST be on the Court (although I think it’s always been nine, at least for MOST of the country’s history).

IF the GOP succeeds in turning the Court into a Nazi SEWER (and THAT doesn’t provoke revolution), we could–IF we attain big enough majorities in both chambers of Congress at some point and retake the presidency–expand the Court to, say, THIRTEEN, or whatever number is necessary, and overwhelm the fascist GARBAGE on the Court with HUMAN BEINGS.

The gangsters want a WAR, they can HAVE ONE!!

        • Sissy Spacedout

It’s actually mr. 🙂 Sissy’s my old drag name.

I’m pretty sure the number has fluctuated, it was 7 at one point, and FDR created a fuss by stuffing the bench. Or trying to. Can’t remember off the top of my head, and I’m feeling too lazy to look it up. 🙂

I know the situation is bad, but I don’t think a war is required to sort this shit out. At least, I still hope it’s not.

“A great war leaves a country with three armies: an army of cripples, an army of mourners and an army of thieves.”

          • billbear1961

            Mister Spacedout.

There were 9 when FDR was POTUS, but because they tried to stop his programs to save the country from the depression–and possible revolution–he threatened to expand it to 11 (or 13?). That backfired on him, BUT the Court came around to his way of thinking on a number of issues.

          • Sissy Spacedout

Well, if there’s a ConCon, maybe the new constitution can specify the numbers of judges. 🙂 Won’t that be a fun thing to live thru. Imagine, Donald Trump in the role of George Washington.

I’m Canadian, and that thought is an abomination to me. I can’t imagine what you and your countrymen feel about the idea.

I vaguely remembered the Court Issue in FDR’s day, that’s why I thought the number of judges wasn’t set in writing.

          • billbear1961

By backfired, I meant FDR had to back down.

I didn’t mean an actual or literal physical war, like the civil war–I meant it figuratively, like the culture war.

But IF it comes down to fascism or democracy, and the ONLY way left to defend the latter is actual WAR; then, so be it.

          • Sissy Spacedout

The choir is preaching to each other, I see. 🙂

It was you who said that to me yesterday, wasn’t it? 🙂

        • McSwagg

“The U.S. Constitution established the Supreme Court but left it to Congress to decide how many justices should make up the court. The Judiciary Act of 1789 set the number at six: a chief justice and five associate justices. In 1807, Congress increased the number of justices to seven; in 1837, the number was bumped up to nine; and in 1863, it rose to 10. In 1866, Congress passed the Judicial Circuits Act, which shrank the number of justices back down to seven and prevented President Andrew Johnson from appointing anyone new to the court. Three years later, in 1869, Congress raised the number of justices to nine, where it has stood ever since. In 1937, in an effort to create a court more friendly to his New Deal programs, President Franklin Roosevelt attempted to convince Congress to pass legislation that would allow a new justice to be added to the court—for a total of up to 15 members—for every justice over 70 who opted not to retire. Congress didn’t go for FDR’s plan.”

    • billbear1961

McConnell may not have the votes for the nuclear option. If they do away with the filibuster, it’s GONE. So, they better think TWICE.

There’s little point in having a weapon if you’re ALWAYS afraid to USE it for fear of LOSING it! And the Dems are FOOLS to believe ANY Republican promise–EVER. The GOP are gangsters with NO sense of HONOUR. They don’t even know what the fucking word MEANS!! They are blatantly seditious THIEVES!!

It is extremely important not to demoralize the base–and that is EXACTLY what will happen if the Dems reward the GOP for STEALING that seat!!

Trump has NO mandate to appoint far-right choices, having lost the PV to Hillary by nearly three MILLION votes! And nothing as important as a lifetime appointment to the Court should occur while that goddamned TRAITOR remains under FBI investigation! If ANY nominee is considered, it should be MERRICK GARLAND, the last legitimate nominee by a legitimate POTUS.

The GOP are reeling from their healthcare debacle. Sticking it to them on the Court issue–which is FULLY justified because of the unprecedented THEFT of that seat–will help KEEP them in disarray!!

They must be attacked on ALL FRONTS by a Democratic party that has FINALLY learned how to FIGHT!!

Fuck ANYONE who suggests a craven return to the goddamned SPINELESSNESS they usually show with a ruthless FASCIST enemy!!

      • Texndoc

“Elections have consequences”. If they use the nuclear option (which they’ve promised if Gorsuch is filibustered) then Kennedy, Thomas may retire and Trump would do exactly what he’s done with this seat: choose someone who’s in their 40s and 50’s to serve for the next 30-40 years and no stopping him. And RBG is in her twilight. That was Jeremy Peter’s point. We’ll see what happens. A year ago if you thought “President Trump” would be picking and choosing, people would have branded you insane. Well we’re here.

        • billbear1961

If the GOP fill that Court with far-right SCUM, they will DESTROY the institution, its reputation; and risk provoking the VERY revolution they’re so afraid of.

        • bobbleobble

But if the Democrats wave through Gorsuch then they’ll just threaten to use the nuclear option next time and the next time and the next time. It’s also not clear that McConnell really wants to use the nuclear option nor that he has the votes to impose it.

          • Aron Sasportas

@hobbleobble, In recent months, anti-LGBTIQ? trolls have been flooding the message boards of Pink News and similar websites with verbally aggressive messages of hate.

Since one can never win with them, one will accomplish nothing when trying to engage them in intelligent, courteous dialog.

Like Milo, they thrive on provoking outrage and they enjoy angering others.

I refrain from responding to them and in that way have avoided getting entangled in long threads, which lead only to new provocations and tangents on tangents and in the end accomplish nothing.

You too may want to give them the silent treatment or limit your response to a down-vote.

Eventually, after realizing that they are being ignored and that they have failed to provoke you, they may go away.

At least these are the trolls:

Just read on Daily Beast – Trump really is an emotionally damaged child:

Since he became president, Trump has spent an inordinate amount of time praising Morning Joe’s direct competitor Fox & Friends. Scarborough thinks the change of heart may have come when he suggested on air that Chris Christie and Bernie Sanders both delivered higher ratings than Trump when they appeared as guests. “He went crazy, sent me a letter, had a spreadsheet, talked about how his ratings were higher than ours,” Scarborough said.
