NOM Exploits Florist Ruling With Money Beg To Pressure Trump On Legalizing Anti-LGBT Discrimination

Via email from hate group leader Brian Brown:

In an expected but nonetheless exceedingly disappointing decision, the Washington state Supreme Court ruled today that the state may punish a Christian florist, Barronelle Stutzman, for declining to violate her religious beliefs and be forced into participating in a gay ‘marriage’ that is against her religion.

This outrageous ruling confirms what we have been saying ever since the US Supreme Court illegitimately redefined marriage in its Obergefell decision — the religious rights of people of faith are being systematically sacrificed on the altar of political correctness and LGBT extremism.

This case is one of many that illustrates why President Trump must act immediately to protect the religious liberty rights of people of faith. Liberal judges simply will not act to protect people with mainstream, traditional views on marriage and sexuality when they conflict with the ever-expansive demands of LGBT extremists. It is up to President Trump and Congress to act.

NOM is working on an emergency communications plan to ramp up public attention on religious liberty and push for a presidential Executive Order and Congressional enactment of the First Amendment Defense Act that will protect people of faith from discrimination by the federal government. Will you help us fight back today against liberal judges and the left with an emergency financial contribution to support religious liberty?

You can have all the stupid fucking views you want. You may not legislate against your equals, kunt-wads.

    God, it’s not fucking hard.

We went through this in the 50s and 60s. If you are open to the public, you must serve the public. Your sincerely held religious belief that blacks and white should not eat together does not matter. You must serve everyone. The KKK invokes Christ at cross burnings (in films I have seen on PBS) but that does not make their beliefs hold up in court.

Here is some religious rights for you zealots. If your eyes offend you pluck them out, it your ears offend you cut them off, if you life is offended let it end.
Seems you have already been offended with knowledge and took your brains out for cleansing.

“or declining to violate her religious beliefs and be forced into participating in a gay ‘marriage’ that is against her religion”

I don’t like my non-religious beliefs violated by paying more taxes to make up for all that yall skip out on.

No one could have expected NOM to exploit this. /s

I’m sure if they understood what lying sacks of shit they are, they’d ask for forgiveness.

    • Christian1234567

I don’t think they would. They use their religion as a weapon designed to give them more power through deliberately harming others. They get off on harming people. They have no conscience.

  • JaniceInToronto

    Lying liars lie again. Yawn…

  • “We have to make bouquets for them! And we have to take their gay money!!”

    • Outlaw Woman

Really, that’s crux of the argument,

No one was being “forced” into participating in a wedding ceremony.
      1) Take an order from a member of the public without discrimination.
      2) Arrange flowers
      3) Deliver flowers
      4) Get out

      • 5) And try not to let their “Christian love” cause them to say something hateful and mean-spirited.

Whiny gay editor Chadwick Moore was interviewed on NPR this morning declaring his support for allowing businesses such as these to refuse to do business with the LGBT community based on their religious values. What an idiot.

It’s funny how we–pre-Trump–used to think these “religious liberty” arguments were just an example of willful ignorance on the part of “Christians,” or, at least, a good-faith but really twisted logic on their part.

Post-Trump, though, it’s clear these (and other similar) arguments were not made in good faith at all, and are just the typical white nationalist/Christianist/authoritarian bullshit that the conservative movement today specializes in.

They think they haven’t been exposed…but they totally have.

What shot her down, knowing they were a gay couple and still sold them flowers for years , she can’t have it both ways

You don’t need money, you just need to pray harder.

  • SFBruce

Of course they’re using this to raise money, but of course, Barronelle Stutzman won’t see any of it, but she served her purpose. If her lawyers over at the ADL haven’t launched a similar money grab, there’s one coming soon.

I don’t know much about the play but I like the movie, though it didn’t come out until Reagan was in office, so by that time was a little dated. But the Twyla Tharp choreographaphy was good and I had a major crush on Treat Williams. Yummo! 😉

Alright. I really admire/envy people who have musical talent because I just don’t. I don’t even have a clue what tone-deaf really means, but though I like music if I attempt to sing it sounds like my balls are being poached.

But I do like this guy.

  • I guess in a case involving an inter-racial couple or a catholic couple he would also say “the state may punish a Christian florist, Barronelle Stutzman, for declining to violate her religious beliefs and be forced into participating in an inter-racial ‘marriage’ that is against her religion” or “the state may punish a Christian florist, Barronelle Stutzman, for declining to violate her religious beliefs and be forced into participating in an catholic ‘marriage’ that is against her religion”

the simple fact is that it is no different. if providing a business service constitutes participation in a wedding and if religious belief is groups to refuse to do that then it can NOT only apply to same sex marriage but must also apply to any other marriage. Bring this up every single time they go down this path, you either can not discriminate agasint a same sex couple getting married or you must allow business to discriminate agasint any marriage becasue of any objection.

  • ‘marriage’ and redefined marriage…..take your pick Brian which is it? if marriage has been “redefined” then stop putting quotes around marriage….you just said that the definition changed. If you are going to claim that same sex marriage is not in fact real marriage then you can not say that marriage has been redefined…..becasue you are asserting that the definition is the same as before. Brian is trying to use two smears that contradict each other, how typical of him.
