Giorgio Moroder – Good For Me [AUDIO]

Via Entertainment Weekly:

At 76 years young, Giorgio Moroder isn’t slowing down. The disco pioneer is following the success of his 2015 comeback album Déjà Vu by gearing up for more and more new music. EW has the exclusive premiere of Moroder’s new single “Good for Me,” released Thursday, with singer Karen Harding handling vocal duties.

“My goal is to make music that will make people want to dance, nothing else,” Mororder tells EW via email. “When I first met Karen, I couldn’t believe how young and talented she is! She was so excitable! The studio atmosphere was very fun. … When I heard her voice, and met her in person I knew it would be perfect. She is a talented girl, radiating beauty inside and out.”

This is the Oscar- and Grammy-winning musician’s first release since returning to Casablanca Records earlier this year. He produced Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” in 1977 and released his acclaimed debut From Here to Eternity the same year — all for the label.

OT: looks like Trump reinstated his anti Muslim stance on his site

“so Trump camp was presented with the choice of letting everyone think he’d softened or go hardcore anti-Muslim. And they went w/ the latter ” – Sam Stein

Déjà Vu’s tracks were largely hit or miss. The guest vocalist line-up was fun, but musically, the album was all over the map.

      Or preppy wanna be peppy.

1977 sigh,…well, make America gyrate again.

      • TuuxKabin

Hmmmm, Dolores Del Largo and the Del Largo Sisters can really work the balls too.

        • KCMC

          • TuuxKabin

Oh good. I’m glad, we’re both glad you liked that, el hubcap found this after that played . . . don’t try drinking anything when she gets going, I had my coffee snortin’ outta my nose.

          • TuuxKabin

Meanwhile, the new First Lady has announced her priorities

The Only way we’re going to get thru all this is by dancing ,laughing and resisting with like minded brothers and sisters

  • TuuxKabin

Wow. Boom titty boom titty’s never gonna die?

  • another_steve

What is old is new again.

Anyone who did the scene in the early 70s will recognize the sound.

    • djcoastermark

Not a bad thing at all.

      • another_steve

When Donna Summer died, I cried.

  • Circle Thomas

Honestly, the best new Giorgio Moroder this year came from…Shooter Jennings!?

  • Chuck in NYC

Sigh. Only meh. The chorus is OK, but the verse needs a better melody to cause this to break out of the pack. The arrangement is exactly like too much other forgettable dance music these days, so that’s the unavoidable verdict on this single: Forgettable.

“Deja Vu” with Sia remains the best thing he’s put out the last couple of years.

  • TimJ

Oh, that’s good, a modern throwback of sorts! And of course Giorgio did the last Daft Punk album. You’ve heard it a million times but today might just be the day for:

    • barrixines

Here’s Nile Rodgers accompanying Mashrou’ Leila on a cover. Mashrou’ Leila are Lebanese and the only Arab band in the world (that I know of) with an out gay singer.

      • TimJ

        Great, thanks!

      • TuuxKabin

Ahhhh, some more new music to get lost in, a good diversion from the rest of the muck n’ mire out there. ^^^^^^^^^^x100 this. Thanks. El hubcap came over to see if it was The Talking Heads, when the music first started.

        • barrixines

Yes I can get the Talking Heads vibe. Music has always got me through the worst of everything. I am just sitting in our dining room at the moment with the Vicomte surrounded by thousands of our books and we’re discussing which – music or literature – we’d be prepared to sacrifice first. Either would kill me but I think I know, as a writer for many years, I could write my own stories. Music I can’t replace.

          • TuuxKabin

Music has always got me through the worst of everything. Same here. This morning has been a bit distracting. Leonard Cohen’s music first thing in the morning. That boom titty bit. Each thread leading me on to unravel and binge watch music videos while el hubcap’s out running errands and buying prosecco for lunch. Decided ‘nuf this sittin’ ’round drowning in the blues. The music leads we got this morning will see us thru lunch and a bottle. That Lebanese band is the tops for the day. Great stuff.

I agree. Music would win over. Probably ‘el el’ would agree. Of course there’s always audio books.

      • GanymedeRenard

        This is awesome, thank you!

  • Nic Peterson

I am sorry, but the Prince and I aren’t ready to listen to the pretty music. Sigh.

  • Brian

Ultimately very danceable with a happy vibe that’ll sure make it fun to drive to 🙂 Thanks for the hot tip!

  • Oh’behr

I still like the song, From Here to Eternity, which was in the Quebec film, C.R.A.Z.Y.

At: 1:42:10 … though the story line might not make sense to the music.
I found the song erotic in terms of the story and the young man’s coming out.

Sorry, you have to listen to some lame advertisement first, before the film.

You can advance into the film.

The song also pauses for a moment, the continues into the next scene.

  • TheManicMechanic

I don’t have any dancing left in me at this point.

  • REBELComx

    Someone’s gotta say it…
One does not simply walk to Moroder.
