KENTUCKY: Trans Man Outs Himself As Having Been Granted Marriage License By Office Of County Clerk Kim Davis

LGBT activists and allies are once again outside the Rowan County courthouse this morning where local trans man Camryn Colen (third from left in photo) just outed himself to the press as having been issued a marriage license by the office of anti-LGBT county clerk Kim Davis.  JMG reader Tom Morgan is on the scene and he tells us that while another county staffer was issuing the license, “Kim was right there answering questions and it was Kim that told Camryn that she didn’t need to see his birth certificate that BTW is… FEMALE!!” The license was issued in late February 2015. Left to right in the photo: Levi Wade, Tom Morgan, Camryn Colen, Lexi Colen.  Mrs. Colen identifies as pansexual.

I will update this post when local media publish their reports.

UPDATE: Here’s the report from the Lexington Courier-Journal.

Camryn Colen, who is transgender, and his wife Alexis, who identifies as pan sexual, said Davis’ office provided the paperwork Feb. 26 without asking to see Camryn’s birth certificate, which still identifies him as female. “She saw just a straight couple in love, and she should see everybody like that,” Camryn said. “She shouldn’t just see straight couples like that.” The couple’s story was first reported by the Daily Independent in Ashland and The Trail Blazer, the student newspaper at Morehead State University. The Colens said they have wanted to step forward since Davis began refusing licenses for all couples in June, but were concerned about the safety of their 6-month old daughter. Camryn, 30, and Alexis, 21, have been together for two years. They moved to Morehead about a year ago and have tried to remain under the radar, Camryn said. But fighting for an equal world for his daughter is more important, he added. “Stuff has just escalated and gotten ridiculous, and we decided that we were going to come forward with it,” Alexis said. Camryn, an Iraq War veteran, said he decided to transition in 2010. Since stepping forward, the couple said they have received “massive” support from the community.

Kim, you are so burning in Hell for this! /s

    • RaygunsGoZap

Also, THANK YOU Cameryn! Fucking mazel to you!

      • GayOldLady

Ditto…..Thank you Cameryn, Cameryn’s partner and everyone there in Rowan County working for our Freedom.

        • GayOldLady

Unless you’ve ever lived in a small southern community like Rowan County, you have no idea how much courage it takes to come out of the closet and to stand in front of the courthouse in support of LGBT civil rights. Bravo to everyone in our community that took the time to be heard in Rowan County KY. We’re with y’all all the way, if not in body, in spirit. BE THERE. STAY THERE, UNTIL LOVE WINS!!!!

So, 95? I’d think she would be dumber than that.

          • RaygunsGoZap

            i i i i i, caramba.

          • Gene

well said! That is one of the ironies of this whole mess. the town of Pikeville aside, Morehead has the largest and most visible GLBT communities in KY outside of the big cities (Louisville, Lexington). The local University is well known as being GLBTwelcoming (Morehead State has about 11,000 students) and this is perhaps the last Co that part of the state I would have expected this in. I know 2 trans individuals there and they tell me that they feel welcomed and integrated. The Hideous cow bitch clerk will lose this battle, and that is great…..that a GLBT community can thrive in a fairly rural Appalachian community and its members feel safe enough to boldly stand up for their rights tells us all just how AMAZINGLY far we have ALL come.
30 years ago…these brave men and women (trans and otherwise) would have been run out of town!

          • Carrie

Yes! the TLGBIQ community loves this. LOL.

    • Nah, she’ll claim she was tricked by Satan. All will be forgiven.

      • another_steve

So because Camryn looks male, the pig didn’t need to see his birth certificate?

Tryin’ to wrap my brain around this. Please bear with me, people…

If you “look the part,” god says it’s okay?

        • medaka

No. Those present say it’s okay.

And there is no god. Do try and keep up.

        • bambinoitaliano

Just as Kim does not need to obey the scriptures to be a christian.

          • Ragnar Lothbrok

Or obey pet ownership rights as a county official

        • Bad Tom

          Like this guy?

        • Chucktech

Yeah, that’s about how shallow and vapid these ghastly christian fucks are.

          • bambinoitaliano

            Just plain stupid.

          • Chucktech

That’s what their puerile beliefs require.

        • John T

Like in Iran, the government finds it intolerable for two men to have a sexual relationship, but if one of them wants to transition to female, the government health care system will gladly pay for the hormones and surgery. I guess because that’s more “natural,” or something.

          • Chucktech

            Yeah, Allah’s funny that way…

          • another_steve

I suspect male-to-female transgendered people sexually titillate many fundamentalist Muslim men.

There’s really no other coherent explanation of what you describe there, John.

      • RaygunsGoZap

No! I just got off the phone with Jeebus Co. They were very clear that while yes Satan is involved the failure to look at the birth certificate makes it her unforgivable sin. Hehehe

        • Eebadee-eebadee-thatsallfolks

Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t really out to get you.

Kim Davis going to hell anyway must have been
      everyone’s first thought / fantasy .

    • MDB

What, no comments from our pseudo-christian troll marigrace about christian morals, ethics and prinicipals….and all these lies being told about Kim Davis and her strongly held religious beliefs by we eeevile ghey-stoppo homoenazi fascists ???

      Duplicitous Fundamentalist HYPOCRITES !!!!!

      • RaygunsGoZap

I think I made margrace blow a fuse earlier in the week when her Jose Lemonti account tried to out troll me.

        • MDB

I just checked her non-private account. she hasn’t posted anything to Disqus in three days. They just can’t take it when we shove truth and facts down their throats 😉

          • RaygunsGoZap

True. Maybe some of those facts obstructed her airway…

          • MDB

Oxygen deprivation accounts for her inane rantings.

      • TKay Michel

The Moseites don’t come here because they’re too afraid Satan will get them.

(Notice I don’t refer to them as “Christians” because most of these bigots are following the teachings of Moses, not the teachings of Christ. They may call themselves Christians, but they’re the ones Jesus was talking about when he said he was going to turn his back on the self-righteous hypocrites and tell them, “I never knew you.”)

    • Platos_Redhaired_Stepchild

Honestly, I doubt she’s really doing this because she believes it’s a sin. I think she’s really in it for the money and fame.

      • RaygunsGoZap

Well, of course. And I don’t believe in Hell. But I get a lot of joy out of saying that to “believers”. I like to think of it as Psychological Radon. I constantly tell them they’re going to hell and why. It creeps in. Also, they eventually find it very irritating.

  • JaniceInToronto

Does this invoke the ‘dogs will be marrying cats’ meme?

    • LonelyLiberal

Only if they’re furries on weekends.

Other than that, they’re two human beings in love who got married. There’s nothing that should be exceptional about that.

      • JaniceInToronto

Well, not to a sane person, but we’re talking about an evangelical christian.

    • RaygunsGoZap

      Pogo is available.

      • Michael Hansen

Pogo is a good looking little man. Just saying is all.

        • LonelyLiberal

I read that as “Pogo is with a good looking little man.”

My response was, “Not so little.”

But both are good looking men, yes.

        • RaygunsGoZap

Pogo says thanks! Also, he wants to know if you have anything to eat.

      • Ray Taylor

        Sexy, both of you.

      Mormons and lawnmowers ???

      • JaniceInToronto

Like it was custom made for YouTube. Does the lawnmower have holy underwear too?

  • LonelyLiberal

So Kim has already violated her Deeply, Truly, Closely Held Religious Beliefs. Further violations are, therefore, of no significance since it only takes one little sin to go to Hell.

    Well, Kim, enjoy.

As for Mr. and Mrs. Colen: congratulations on your wedding!

    • disqus_oCvsL5SBJH

sort of like her 3 divorces and remarriages. Jesus said that remarriage after divorce (while your ex-spouse was still living) was adultery. I guess she figured “well, I already broke the rule once, guess it doesn’t matter I break it three more times! Mmmm… great shrimp at this theological buffet!”

      • LonelyLiberal

Great shrimp that she’s wiping on the sleeve of her cotton-poly garment. 🙂

      • RaygunsGoZap

FACT: Kim Davis carries shrimp in her vagina!

        • Paula

Pickled shrimp? Hmm, never heard of that. Many of them have a fishy smell. Shrimp is a new one.

          • scottrose

Don’t you know the biblical parable about Jesus removing the shrimp from a woman’s vagina?

          • Paula

Guess I missed buybull class that day.

          • That’s where we get our periods from:

            Jeebus’s cocktail sauce.

        • People4Humanity

That fact was published on the Internet, so it must be true!

Now I want to play some D&D. BTW, did you hear they’re gonna make a big budget Forgotten Realms movie. Squeeeee!

The apocalypse is no excuse for poor motoring.

        • LonelyLiberal

Exactly! I haven’t even gotten around to doing my hair yet this morning. Garden work and all.

Now the real pity is that the world ended and I spent the morning fighting alternaria blight in the zinnias.

          • dood, i feel for you. i love my zinnias. luckily we have no blight on them.

          • LonelyLiberal

Alas, I lost most of them. Daconil didn’t help. Triforine didn’t help.

What finally worked? Corn meal, 10 pounds per thousand square feet.

Fortunately, I have tons of volunteers that are happily growing in where the old ones died. And next year I’ll rotate the gardens a bit.

        • BobSF_94117

You have to have a vehicle in good working order so you and your band of intrepid survivors can escape the zombies gays/tornado/wave/gaping-maw-of-the-fractured-earth by careening down the empty highway that was, inexplicably, ground to a halt with a ten-mile traffic jam in the immediately preceding scene.

    • MDB

…and I just watered and fertilized all my flowers and filled my hummingbird feeders. Gosh, what WAS I thinking ????

  • Blake Mason

You know this means Kim Davis will burn in the pits hell for eternity.

    • Chucktech

Alas (in this case), hell is only a myth.

      • Reality.Bites

And if it isn’t, this isn’t the reason she’ll burn. That ship sailed long ago.

      • lattebud

Have you ever been in the Rome airport on a hot day?

        • zhera

I’ve been in the Rhodes, Greece airport on a hot day. It definitely qualifies as Hell on Earth.

  • bkmn

And at the end of the day Kim Davis will still be a hate-filled skank.

True. I think there’s no learning curve gonna happen with this one.

I’m so glad we have JMG readers on the ground in Rowan. My wish came true. Thank you Tom and JMG.

  • another_steve

The theofascists are so fucked up on this whole issue that it totally defies even any attempt to discern their “internal logic.”

What are they interested in? The marriage applicants’ genitals?

Do they ask to see them to ensure that it’s a “boy/girl” marriage?

    • Homo Erectus

      Kim will from now on.

  • Eebadee-eebadee-thatsallfolks
  • medaka

That is some fucking delicious icing.

And yes You get a slice, and YOU get a slice!

  • delk

Hopefully, it will now be obvious to all that Kim’s religious freedom is nothing but window dressing for her unbridled hatred of gays.

  • Jeffg166

Now she’s going to have to ask all the guys to whip it out for her to be sure she’s not approving a trans man’s marriage license.

    • Some transmen could pass that test

      • Jeffg166

        Some could.

  • “…she didn’t need to see his birth certificate that BTW is… FEMALE!!”

As an elder gay I do try to keep up with what the kids are doing these days. I know that BTW means “by the way” but, what am I missing in that sentence?

    • LonelyLiberal

He was physically born a she, who married a she. Kim just married two biological females in legal matrimony.

      • medaka

      • another_steve

But but but… He LOOKS male, and that was apparently enough here.

      • Read the sentence. “Kim was right there answering questions and it was Kim that told Camryn that she didn’t need to see his birth certificate that BTW is… FEMALE!!”

        “that BTW is”

        Who is BTW?

        • David Walker

“Kim was right there answering questions and it was who told Camryn the she (Kim) didn’t need to see his (Camryn’s) birth certificate which, by the way, says Camryn was born female.” We elder gays have to stick together in helping each other.

          • Bj Lincoln

Sometimes the short hand gets confusing. It’s ok.

          • Yes, that’s the meaning. It took me a while. I had to diagram the sentence in cursive using a quill and ink.

          • I hope you used a proper artisanal iron gall ink. With a really high iron content so it will have a sufficient interaction with the chemicals in the parchment so that in 200 years the writing has eaten through the skin.

        • LonelyLiberal

I’m pretty sure it’s a misprint and not a great example of accurate journalism.

“birth certificate that he, BTW, is…FEMALE!!”

It’s also a backhand insult to trans people. He may have been born female-appearing, and the State of Kentucky may not want to change that, but he is definitely a he.

    • DaddyRay

You are not alone, as a fellow elder gay I found that confusing and am still not sure what BTW means in the context of that sentence

      • IamM

        Btw=by the way
The point is Camryn and his wife are if you go by their birth certificates both female, which Kimchi’s office would’ve known if she hadn’t said fuck just skip it.

        • David Walker

It’s a good indication of how Miss Kim runs her office.

          • And gets $80k. Smh.

          • Herald

Very, very sloppy and unprofessional, which does not surprise me at all.

          • IamM

If only there were standard procedures to follow or some guidelines. Maybe written down somewhere.

          • David Walker

Srsly. This reinventing the wheel does get a little old.

          • Bj Lincoln

Exactly. She passes judgment on couples who look ‘wrong’ and doesn’t bother to check the required documents if they look ‘ right’?

          • The requirement is showing ID. I wonder if Kim checked ID or did Camryn have an updated ID?

        • DaddyRay

I have used BTW as By The Way but it is that quote that doesn’t make sense – it makes my head hurt to read it

“Kim was right there answering questions and it was Kim that told Camryn that she didn’t need to see his birth certificate that BTW is… FEMALE!!”

          • David Walker

DaddyRay…I understand. Think of the last part of the sentence as “Kim told Camryn Kim didn’t need to see Camryn’s birth certificate because Kim would could see that Camryn was male. If Miss Kim HAD asked for Camryn’s birth certificate, Miss Kim would have discovered that Camryn was born female.”

          • DaddyRay

Thanks David – I understand the context of the story but found that wording confusing

          • David Walker

You’re welcome, Daddy. Some of us were born with red editing pens in our hands. I’d have preferred a silver spoon, but the red pen has served me well.

          • Ray Taylor

“…” refers to Kim’s history in this case. In other words: “fill in the dots”. If you had lived in SF in the 60′ and 70’s, you would have remembered the columinist Herb Cain with his three dot journalism.

          • The word “that” is causing the issue. Substitute “who” and it works.

“it was Kim that told Camryn that she didn’t need to see his birth certificate, who by the way, is… FEMALE!!”

          • DaddyRay

            Much better

        • Claude Jacques Bonhomme

          Kimchi 😄.

She does look like fermented cabbage.

    • another_steve

Presumably, had the pig asked to see Camryn’s birth certificate, she would have seen “female” as the gender on it, and her god would say “no good, can’t marry ’em.”

      Or something.

  • motordog

BWA-hahahahaha! You know what this means, Kimmy-poo! Eternal damnation for YOU! You defied your loving, compassionate, gentle god, and now you’re going to suffer for all eternity for your mistake!

    • David Walker

Clearly the work of Satan. God must have taken the day off.

      • another_steve

        It’s Saturday, David.

        God doesn’t work Saturdays.

Omniscient, omnipotent, ubiquitous perfect beings apparently need some down time…

        • MDB

But Chuck, judging and damning folks all day long is tiring work…and keeping track of all that eevile sin an’ backslidin – geesh !!!

    • John T

That picture makes me so sad, to think that people convince other people to believe in such an awful fantasy, all in the name of “morality.”

  • DumbHairyApe

Firstly, congratulations on the wedding plans!

    Secondly, Camyrn, you ROCK dude!!!!

  • Sam_Handwich

They got the license back in February

“She saw just a straight couple in love, and she should see everybody like that,” Camryn said. “She shouldn’t just see straight couples like that.”

The couple’s story was first reported by the Daily Independent in Ashland and The Trail Blazer, the student newspaper at Morehead State University.

    • medaka

Sam, thanks for that! Camryn, YEAH!

    • David Walker

Once a fighter, always a fighter. Thank you, Camryn.

      • scottrose

        Don’t have a cow, Kim.

        • Chucktech

          Don’t be a cow, Kim. Oh, nevermind…

    • Gerry Fisher

This could be the PR boost we’ve been looking for in this case. 🙂

    • Herald

Thanks for the update! A very courageous couple there!!

  • bambinoitaliano

Now they are going to get applicants to drop their trousers for inspection. Attention ex TSA agents please apply.

    • medaka

Droppin trou for TSA. There’s just got to be some hot porn for that….

  • MDB

Well, I wonder what Justice Kagan will have to say about this ? Hmmmm.

  • vorpal

Poor Kim. She even fails at being a total irredeemable failure.

  • gaymex

If Kim did not know that she was sinning, why would her god punish her? She was negligent in not asking for a birth certificate but she can still say that she would never violate her sincerely held religious beliefs–had she known.
Can she be removed from office for negligence? That would be a wonderful twist.

    • noni

Only God can remove her from office.

      • ahahaha!

        • Octavio

          Gawd and a well-placed cattle prod. 🙂

      • gaymex

        Let us pray.

    • Chucktech

Ooooh, no, God’s not going to overlook sloppy, negligent clerical work. Off to hell she must go.

      • David Walker

I’m with Geraldine on this one. The devil made her do it. This also explains Miss Kim’s wardrobe and hair choices.

        • Chucktech

Miss Kim’s wardrobe and hair choices truly come from the pit of hell!

        • DonnaLee

Really saying something that Flip Wilson in drag had way better clothes.

  • Eebadee-eebadee-thatsallfolks

This just goes to show once and for all that Kim Davis is NOT a martyr. She’s an incompetent, lazy, sloppy attention-addict who likes to blame other people for her failures and play the victim.

[Hmmmmm… that sounds familiar. Why does that remind of somebody else we read about this morning?]

    • Jonathan

The Liberty Counsel knows how stupid and crazy their followers are. They have mined this for outrage, examples of “persecution” and sending the christians to the polls to vote for corporations. Under the guise of “religious freedom” What frauds!

I’m willing to bet the “demonstration” by “thousands” of people (snark) was entirely orchestrated and staged by the Liberty Counsel minions.

      • I wonder how much they paid those folks to show up?

  • Hryflex

I hope the media get on it quickly! I’m not sure I’ll be able to get anything done today until I slurp the tears of impotent rage.

  • thank you for my first belly laugh of the day, Joe.

Punk’d! someone local please go to this bitch’s church tomorrow. and tell all the parishioners that Lil Kimmi betrayed jeebus!!! oh, noes!

  • Steven Leahy

Well I am not excusing those that aren’t issuing licenses, but I guess we should remember that KY has 120 counties and only three are not issuing licenses to all – including the two that have the two Davises as county clerks.

The pink county farthest to the right is Rowan. The green ones were all confirmed to be issuing licenses (this map was posted over a month ago).

    • David Walker

Understood. However, all Burger Kings offer the same menu. All Ford dealerships offer all models for sale, even though said cars may not be in the lot just now. Miss Kim is in government, in an office the duties of which are clearly stated and which the taxpaying public rightly expects to have done when they go there. Not travel to some other county…ALL county clerks offices are to provide the same services. It’s a very good thing that almost all counties are obeying the law, but this is government, and government is supposed to be for all the people all the time.

Please. I’m not hopping all over your frame. I’m simply saying that “most” isn’t as acceptable as “all.”

      • Steven Leahy

Totally agree, just stating for the record that though it sometimes paints the state with a broad brush, MOST of the state is in compliance and these counties represent <3% of the total in the state.

        • David Walker

Got it. And appreciate that you point that out.

        • Reality.Bites

I think it is important to remember (and reiterate) that the massive resistance that NOM insisted would be a result just is NOT there. The United States has 3,144 counties and county equivalents. Only a handful, in a few states, in the smallest population areas of those states, are not in compliance.

It’s not tolerable – but it’s not what NOM and Liberty Counsel were hoping for. Not by a long shot.

Remember it’s only 3 months ago that there was no way to drive from coast to coast and drive exclusively through states where you were married.

          • Steven Leahy

Well put, and as someone who has spent a LOT of time in the south, in some areas where I would have expected widespread resistance, it just hasn’t happened – TN is one of those, and to many people’s surprise, MS was not the last holdout, either. I DID expect the assholishness we saw in TX, but I think that had a lot more to do with macho cowboy wanna-be bullshit than religion.

          • zhera

Are all Texan clerks complying with the law now? It’s been a while since I last saw a list of asshole-y counties.

          • Steven Leahy

Appears as of July 10 at least there were still six – of 254 – refusing to issue SSM licenses.

Not sure if that has changed since.

          • Baltimatt

Where’s all this massive “civil disobedience” we were promised?

      • Octavio

In 1978 my odd mother decided to buy her very own car for the first time. She went to the Buick dealership in her little mormon town and was told by owner, “Sorry, but you don’t qualify for a loan. You need your husband’s signature.” This pissed her off. She drove into SLC, stopped at the largest Buick dealership and bought the most expensive Park Avenue Ultra they had. She didn’t even test drive it. It was still on the shipping trailer. It took a week to prep the damn thing before she got it home. It seems the SLC dealership considered her more than credit-worthy, plus they treated her like an adult.

Several weeks later she received a phone call at home from the local Buick dealer. He noted that he’d seen her tooling about town in a big new blue Buick. He wanted to know why she didn’t do business his local dealership. She happily told the guy to fuck off the best way a mormon matron can without saying “fuck.” The dealer told her she would have to drive into SLC (35 miles) whenever she needed service. His dealership would not honor the car’s warranty.

By the time her Buick needed a tune and freshen-up job, my uncle had bought up the local dealership, which had gone belly up in bankruptcy court. She sort of missed having to drive into SLC for oil changes that also afforded the opportunity to go power shopping every thirty thousand or so miles.

I think Missy Kim Davis just might discover that, despite her deeply held religious beliefs, that she’s morally bankrupt. 🙂

        • Steven Leahy

Would have been nice if she complained directly to Buick and they pulled these assholes’ dealership.

          • Octavio

Mormon housewives NEVER complain about such things. They only complain and write letters regarding “moral” issues. LOL!

        • MDB

Wonderful story ! Dontcha just love it when people cut off their faces to spite their nose ??? I just hate it when karma comes back to bite ’em, and bite ’em hard.

          * BTW – welcome back to the U S of “murikah ! 🙂

        • Baltimatt

          Great story!

        • perversatile

          I’m from North Carolina
          and my Granny would say,
“That shows he was brought up right!”
Tho in my head, I hear-
“Dat auld girl razed dat lilli’on all rite!”

      • Demetrius1261

I think his point is that some posters are putting down the whole state when the vast majority of it is following the law, instead of focusing their ire on the smaller areas that aren’t.

    • Max_1

2/3rds equal =/= equal justice under the law

  • Phil

You’re going to hell, Ms. Davis……

no way is this woman 1/2 of ANYTHING

        • TampaDink

That’s not true. She might be half of a mountain.

  • lattebud

From her appeal to the Supreme Court

“Thus, in her belief, SSM is not, in fact, marriage. If a SSM license is issued with Davis’ name, authorization, and approval, no one can unring that bell.”

    • Osowoofy

    • D. J.

Just like the Gawd botherers can’t unring my damn doorbell when they come handing out their unwanted pamphlets.
They almost always manage to wake me from a desperately needed and very rare nap.
Those of you who are caring for frail aging parent(s) know what I’m talking about.

      • Chucktech

Oooh, but when they make the egregious mistake of ringing MY doorbell, I just let ’em have it! It’s great fun, actually!

        • Neely OHara

Yes indeed! At my front door, my standard response to the question “Have you heard the good news about Jesus Christ?” is unfailingly, “I have! I heard they CRUCIFIED the son-of-a-bitch and I couldn’t be happier!”

          • Chucktech

See, that doesn’t work because all they do is say “That’s right, and then He came back to life to forgive your sins!”

I like my response: “We’re a gay household and we believe jesus christ is dead. Now, go peddle your god woo somewhere else, and don’t darken my door with your puerile bullshit again!”

          • Ragnar Lothbrok

I say much the same chuck, then ask them if they will wait while I go fetch a copy of the radical gay agenda for their reading pleasure. But, they never do.

          • RaygunsGoZap

If it’s Mormon boys, I answer the door in the teensiest tiniest shorts i can grab.

I’m it’s anything else: “Can we talk to you about Jesus?” Is met with a “Can I come in your ass?”

          • Chucktech

I had a couple of really cute Mormon boys (they’re always so cute, aren’t they?) come to the door once, and before they got so much as a “hello” out, I told them, gently (I just couldn’t be too nasty to them, they were so cute), “Look, guys, you’ve knocked on the wrong door. We’re a gay household and we believe jesus christ is dead.” And to their credit? They said “Have a nice day” and left.

      • yes, yes i do.

my solution was to unplug the doorbell.

      • RaygunsGoZap

    I cannot stop laughing!!!!

  • StraightGrandmother

Tom Morgan thank YOU for being there.
Can you try and find out all of Kim Davis’ other names?
Married 3 times plus a birth name, I would like to know all her previous identities.

    • clay

Isn’t her mother’s name also public as the former County Clerk?

      • StraightGrandmother

There is something screwy about her. Why do all the court papers show her as Kim Davis?
On The county Clerks web page they show her e-mail address as Kimberly B Davis.
        Read this news article

A woman married 3 times, there has to be some dirt on her. Gotta be.
All we know is that her birth name is Kimberly B Bailey
I have been searching but I can’t find anything on Kimberly B Bailey.
That is unless her mothers last name of Bailey is a second marriage for her so that is not Kim’s birth name.

The mother Jean Bailey was clerk for 37 years, a news article I read said that Kim has worked in the clerks office for 27 years. There has got to be some dirt somewhere on this woman, gotta be.

And don’t forget the dog napping daughter, that right there demonstrates an attitude of entitlement. Granted once people become adults you have to kind of stop blaming the parents as we do with unruly children, but does that attitude of entitlement run up higher in the family tree? Based on Kimberly Davis’ action I think it probably does.

        • clay

Surely marriage and divorce records must be open, just like (because) name changes. Morehead’s paper of record must publish all this, no?

          • StraightGrandmother

I put her name in the search field at the paper & didn’t find anything.
Remember when the Philly cops gave out a press release and misspelled the woman Philly Gay bathers name?
I think in a court case you should have to use your real name, no?

        • fuzzybits

Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s intimidation going back for decades against citizens in that county.

        • clay

Kimberley Jean (nee Bailey) Davis, aged 49, possible related names: Wallace, Baumgardner, Berryman, Howard.

        • clay

Jean was County Clerk for 38 years. Kim started working there 27 years ago, but was elected to the Clerk’s position for the first time last fall.

  • BobSF_94117

She’s been Clerk for a long, long time. I doubt this is the first time this has happened.

    • Reality.Bites

In a county with a population of 20,000?

  • YAY! Thanks for the sweet news, Joe!
Triple congrats to the happy couple!

  • Rebecca Gardner

I don’t get it. She married a Man and a Woman which is the only sort of marriage her shriveled, bigoted heart supports.

Is this something to see if she hates trans people too?

    • you know what the xtians think of the trans community, babe.

      • Rebecca Gardner

Yeah good point, but Trans Men are SO HOT!

    • Circ09

I share your thoughts. This is a straight couple. The government in Iran will execute gays but will allow transpeople or even force gay men to transition to keep up the appearance of a male-female only paradigm. Kim Davis can use the same excuses here.

    • zhera

Her ilk are usually not tolerant of trans people. If Davis had seen the birth certificate she would’ve most certainly denied them a licence.

  • noni

How is a bigot to know? Next Kim will require a strip search.

To make sure everyone has the right parts for her personal definition of marriage.

    • TampaDink

She’s also likely to force couples to demonstrate how they copulate.
Husband #4 likes this plan, Kim can bring home her office videos instead of him looking at porn online.

  • Ramona Love

    this story is golden

wish I knew about other trans people in that part of Kentucky the entire 24 years I lived there though D:

  • BeaverTales

Would it be too much to ask for bi and trans folk to out themselves more often for things like this??

    • LonelyLiberal

Since the probability of physical harm is pretty high for trans people at the present moment, particularly in more backward areas, I don’t blame them for staying quiet when they feel they may be at risk.

Much like I don’t blame 1950’s gays for not coming out en masse. It just wasn’t safe.

  • Davis has always reminded me of Beulah Balbricker

    • abusedbypenguins

Does that mean the kim davis is the official talley-whacker inspector for Kentucky? Because she missed one.

  • kayuka

Its time to let the world know.

  • Snarkaholic

    Kim: Go to hell.
    Go directly to hell.
    Do not pass ‘GO’.
    Do not collect crowd-funded dollars.

  • “Smith said the group has underestimated support for Davis and was trying to counter a rally that drew thousands to the State Capitol last week in support of Davis and two other clerks who have refused licenses.

“It’s not our desire to see anybody in pain or hurt or deprived of anything,” he said. “It’s just our desire that the same respect be given to those of us who have strong moral convictions.””

  • Happy Dance

    This is too good!!

  • fuow

Good for him. And his wife. And their daughter.
And, oh, what a fuck you, you mother-fucking cum-sucking whoring christer c*nt of a bitch this is to Davis. Both of them, ‘brother and sister in jeebus’ that they are.

  • Nychta

Love it! And I admire Camryn and Lexi’s courage in coming forward. Big difference between putting yourself on the line to support human rights and putting yourself on the line to support personal prejudice and stifle human rights.

This should demonstrate to Davis and her ilk that they aren’t in a position to judge anyone, but I doubt it will.

  • Max_1

Kim Davis should be an ejected official instead of an elected official…

  • John Ridener

There is no such thing as the Lexington Courier-Journal. Lexington Herald-Leader or Louisville Courier-Journal. Waiting for her to be jailed for contempt so a replacement can be appointed….is exhausting.

  • Max_1

    Dear Kim,
I hear people find Jesus from behind bars…

  • Tor

I guess Kim is on the fast train to Hell now.

    • Igby

No! No! No! We’re going to Hell. We can’t have her with us. There must be another place for her.

  • Robert Adams

    It’s all about your wardrobe?

    • Martin

That’s why all her four husbands left her.

  • Meri Justus

  • Zarah Braun

well she might as well keep going since she is now marked for hell in her mind!

  • pennyjane

all that needs be said about this disgusting excuse for a human being is that it’s on it’s fourth marriage……and wants to teach the rest of us about the sanctity of marriage. what a vomit trap.

    • Green Is Good

She believes in the sanctity of marriage so much she had to do it FOUR times. No screwing around out of wedlock for her!

  • Now, they can tout her trans-friendly ways.

  • TampaDink

I hope that this will cause Kim Davis to retroactively beg jebus for his forgiveness.

  • ColdDesert

As this whole gay marriage debate played out over the past ten years I often wondered if someone who was trans or merely really really good at passing for the opposite gender might get away with this with an ignernt county clerk somewhere.

  • Buzzfeed has a pic of Davis, presumably at the wedding ceremony. The Buzzfeed story headline implies that she performed the marriage as well.

“I, Kim Davis, Clerk of the County and State aforesaid, do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true and correct copy of the Marriage Certificate as recorded,” reads a copy of the State of Kentucky marriage certificate that was signed by Davis and provided to BuzzFeed News.
