There have only been two independent polls in Rep. Alan Grayson’s battle with teabagger Daniel Webster and yesterday’s shows that Webster is maintaining a seven-point lead. Along with Rep. Anthony Weiner (NY), Grayson has been an entertaining and dramatic voice for progressives. It’s going to really suck to lose him.

A just-released poll shows Rep. Barney Frank leading GOP candidate Sean Bielat by 13 points, a tighter margin than some had expected.

Openly gay Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet continues to trail in his bid to unseat Rep. Mary Bono Mack. Last week Pougnet received the endorsement of Equality California. Meanwhile the Palm Springs sex sting scandal continues to fester.

FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver today takes aim at some of the polls crying doom and gloom for House Democrats previously thought to be safe, cautioning that the volume of losses may not be as bad as some fear. Things aren’t looking so great for one of our favorite House members, Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL). Sonny’s widow voted against the repeal of DADT. She faces openly gay Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet, who if elected would become the first gay-married gay parent in the national legislature. Pougnet has been facing his own local problems regarding a sex sting by Palms Springs police on gay men in a local park.
