Another blow to the conspiracy theorists. A newly declassified CIA history from 20 years ago spills the story about Nevada’s Area 51 and its secret mission — which was not to study UFOs, but to test the U-2 and other spy planes. The CIA’s story about the legendary test site is contained in “The Central Intelligence Agency and Overhead Reconnaissance: …

The Great Cross

The American Jesus writes: When my friend first showed me the website for The Great Cross Alliance I thought it was a parody. I mean, seriously, if someone showed you this picture and said a 3,000 ft long, nearly 2,000 ft wide, and almost 200 ft high cross was going to be built in the middle of the Nevada desert …

Voters adopted that language with the Protection of Marriage Act in 2002, but polls …

Yesterday the Nevada Senate became the very first state legislative body to overturn a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage. The finish line, however, is more than three years away. Chris Geidner reports at Buzzfeed: After a little more than an hour of debate in which one senator publicly declared that he was gay for the first time, the Nevada Senate …

Today a resolution was introduced in the Nevada Senate that would repeal the state’s constitutional ban on same-sex marriage. NEVADA: Anti-Gay Group Bypasses Appeals Court And Asks SCOTUS To Rule On Same-Sex Marriage Ban

The anti-gay group that just won the battle to uphold Nevada’s same-sex marriage ban is apparently fearful that Lambda Legal’s promised appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court won’t go their way.  Yesterday they went directly to the Supreme Court even though they just won their case. The Coalition for the Protection of Marriage said the case crystalizes the fundamental question …

NOM Cheers Nevada Ruling

“In stark contrast to the findings of a rogue judge in California who himself was engaged in a long-term homosexual relationship, the federal court in Nevada has quite properly found that true marriage serves an important public purpose and is entitled to protection. This important ruling shows how far out of the mainstream the decision in the Proposition 8 case …

Tony Perkins Cheers Nevada Ruling

“Nevada is willing to gamble on a lot of things, but marriage isn’t one of them. In federal court yesterday, Judge Robert Jones dealt a big setback to state activists hoping to redefine marriage. His opinion, which he issued just days after oral arguments, may be one of the most compelling yet on the question of ‘equality’ for homosexual couples. …

From Judge Robert Jones’ Nevada Ruling

“Homosexual persons may marry in Nevada, but like heterosexual persons, they may not marry members of the same sex. That is, a homosexual man may marry anyone a heterosexual man may marry, and a homosexual woman may marry anyone a heterosexual woman may marry. Although the State appears to have drawn no distinction at all at first glance, and although …
