I’m in Florida for the next couple of weeks for my annual holiday visit with friends and family.  I hear there’s a big snow storm about to hit New York City. What a pity.

You can’t tell without a human in the shot, but the statue is 26 feet tall. It arrived from Chicago last year and goes to New Jersey in 2014.

The Positively Cleveland folks have had us on the go-go-go since the minute we arrived. Hopefully I’ll have time later today to recap some of the Gay Games items that we’ve learned. This life-sized Superman statue guards the front gate of one of the oceanside houses in Fire Island Pines.  The first time we walked past it, it was quite dark out and we thought somebody was going for some cosplay action.

I’ll be spending the rest of the week blogging from the Fort Lauderdale lanai of my ex and his partner, who live in a golf course condo complex just west of Wilton Manors.  Usually I stay with Father Tony over on the beach, but he’s busy with the papal conclave.  The weather is gorgeous, so suck it, snowquester.

Philadelphia City Hall was the world’s tallest building from 1901-1908. The 548 foot tower remains the tallest masonry building in the world.  At 37 feet, the statue of William Penn is the tallest atop any building in the world.  So sez Wikipedia.

A few years ago local business leaders began calling the area south of downtown Orlando “Sodo.” There’s now a giant shopping center and an apartment complex that bears the name. I can’t make too much fun of that, after all, Brooklyn now has RAMBO (Right Around Manhattan Bridge Overpass). Manhattan now has MiSo (Midtown South).  And let us not forget …
