I know almost nothing about flowers, but it’s hard to miss that hydrangeas can be seen in the front of every other Provincetown house. That’s probably why there’s such a thing as the Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival, which is happening right now during Bear Week.

Folks stop by our neighbor’s house all day to snap a photo of the man in the window.

Reminder: Today is our JMG meetup at the Boatslip. We’ll try to corral everybody on far west corner of the deck at 6PM for a group photo, so wear your t-shirt. (Unless you’re taking part in “Singlet Day.” Because that would look silly.)

Our Provincetown neighbors are flying an enormous Hillary Clinton campaign flag.

Father Tony and I arrived in Key West yesterday for our annual sojourn at the Island House. This morning I spotted these guys perched aboard the delivery scooter for the Old Town Bakery, my favorite breakfast spot on the island. The Mad Maxian delivery dude came out with an order, the pooches hunkered down, and off they zipped.

Cool, grey, and wet for the second day. At this time last year, the northeast was baking in a triple-digit heat wave. Right now it’s in the low 60s.

This is a parking meter on Commercial Street. Taped over the money slot is an envelope which reads, “Free parking. A random act of kindness. Have a great day! Pay it forward. Love is all you need.” There’s $3 in the envelope.

A lot of hullabaloo for six inches of snow. But the wind chill is minus five.

I spent some time blogging from that yellow chair, but then things went nuts with New Mexico and Utah and I had to retreat to my room. Too many distractions!
