At last night’s Elton John AIDS Foundation fundraiser at the Waldorf-Astoria, Elton announced a $300,000 gift to NYC schools. $6.8M For NYC AIDS Walk

I’m a couple days behind on this, but AIDS Walk New York raised a record $6.8 million on Sunday, with the proceeds headed for GMHC and over 50 other HIV/AIDS organizations. Celebrities taking part included Cyndi Lauper, Whoopi Goldberg, Alan Cumming, T.R. Knight, and Lance Bass. A massive crowd of 45,000 walked this year, also a new record.

Gotham Knights Bachelor Auction Tonight

NYC’s gay rugby team, the Gotham Knights, will be staging their bachelor auction tonight at Splash Bar. The event benefits the Children’s Hope Foundation, which helps children, teens, and families affected by HIV/AIDS. The team’s site says “Steak your claim on real-life rugger”.
